I need your help - Do you use Facebook, Twitter and other Social Networking Sites

I'm doing a study to find out if anyone uses social media to generate sales. To date I have not been able to find one person who says they have had more than 1 or 2 sales in a year because of being on any of the social networking sites. There is a lot of talk and a lot of Agents spending a ton of money, on how to use Social Networking to grow your business. Are you? How long have you been using these services and how many sales can you attribute to using Social Networking. I'm hoping some of you can enlighten all of us who are interested.

Mitch,

I belong to several sites. I can not remember being contacted directly from those sites in refrence to any transaction.

However I do have a email IDX site that requires a sign up sheet to get in. Those people come from everywhere. In all or most of my social sites I have a link to my site house hunt portland .com with the tag line " Let your next home find you "

It is the tagging and linking of sites that throws business my way. Not neccessarily the site its self.

I am a big time techie person and I used to be a web designer and computer retailer.

I can honestly say that I have had ZERO sales from the social networking sites.

80% of my sales have some from personal referrals or agent referrals.

It's all hype. Clients don't work with a realtor due to a social networking site.

Stick to the basics in real estate.
