Have you ever walked into a house that just didn't FEEL right?
While I've never SEEN a ghost, I do believe there are types of energy most of us can't see or hear that exist. As proof, I submit the invisible signal from the remote control to my TV! But I do believe there are other forces all around us. Call it left-over energy from past events, call it "a troubled soul who can't pass over" - whatever you call it, I had an encounter with "it" last week.
I just returned from a week-long trip to visit my oldest son and family in Texas. They live in a beautiful 90 year old home they're renting in an upscale suburb of Dallas. Ever since they moved in a few months ago, the children have been having nightmares. My daughter-in-law tried to find someone to come in and bless the house but for one reason or another, each person she contacted refused or cancelled.
I've always spent time alone in every house I've moved to, asking that our family be blessed with peace and joy and love within the new home, so I offered to help in blessing and doing a space cleansing of their home. I was visiting with my 17 year old son who seems highly sensitive to how his environment "feels," and asked him to help me.
We began at the front door, after lighting candles in each room. I asked for angels to help us and said prayers and burned sage while he followed me silently from room to room, stopping occasionally to sit quitely in meditation.
Midway through the process, the sage suddenly began to burn harder and smoke poured through the rooms, setting off the security system's fire alarm. After trying unsuccessfully to follow the directions to turn it off, I managed to reach the dispatcher and report the false alarm...while hearing the sirens from the fire truck coming closer as I spoke on the phone!
When I finally figured out how to stop the loud screetching, we went back through the house one last time as I asked for peace and love and happiness to fill the rooms. Then we sat down in the living room to talk about our experience.
"I closed my eyes and saw her," my son said."She came to me in the first room before we started, grabbed my shirt and fell to her knees crying "Please help me! I'm so afraid...he's going to kill me!" But there was no "he" anywhere...it was just her fear like a dark cloud hovering all around her.
I said "I can't help you. You're dead." She looked at me in shock and started saying "No, NO NO! I can't be dead!" I told her we were going to help her to move on. As you went from room to room blessing the house, she followed us, but as time went on she seemed to be floating rather than crouched in the corner like she was at first.
"After the fire alarm stopped and we went back through the house, I stayed for awhile in the room where I first saw her. She came toward me one more time and said "Thank you." Then she turned away. It was as if a door appeared in the outside wall between the windows and I saw her go through it."
My son says he got the impression that whatever happened to her occurred some time in the 1960's. Do I believe he saw a ghost? I don't know. But I do know there was SOMETHING in that house in Dallas...if nothing more than the residue of fear and pain felt by an unhappy young woman long ago.
