Have you ever heard of Self-Image Psychology? The experts in this field point out that, for most people. there is an invisible barrier that stands, between what they have accomplished and what they could accomplish and become it the future and that is the image they have of themselves.
It has also been demonstrated numerous times that the self-image can be changed. There's a story about a Farmer who was walking through his fields one day and came across a small glass jar in his pumpkin patch. Just being curious he poked a young pumpkin into the jar still attached to the vine. Then he placed his little experiment on the ground and went out about his days business.
When it came time to harvest the pumpkins the Farmer came across his pumpkin in a jar, it had filled the jar taking on the exact form of the jar but then stopped growing. Compared to all of the other pumpkins it was a runt, its growth cut off by its prison.
It seems we are sometimes like that runt pumpkin, our self image is kinda like that glass jar, we will grow until we fill our jar then stop. That is, until we get ourselves a bigger jar.
Most people have a tendency to under estimate their potential and hold in high esteem the strengths of others. They need to climb to the top of the mountain of their strengths where they can get a better view of their potential.
Eah of us caries in our minds an image or ourselves and our limitations. Almost always this image is smaller than it should be. We should never compare ourselves to others. We are different form others. We have our own unique strengths upon which we can build the structures of our lives.
