It's 95 degrees outside, your kids are restless and you don't want to spend a fortune! Have I got a great idea for you. Arboretum Theater and Stonecrest Theater both offer through the Summer, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday each week, a free movie for you and your kids.
That's right. I said FREE! Too good to be true? No way. I took my 2 year old to see Doogal (a cute cartoon dog story) on Thursday and it was great. There were loads of other parents enjoying time with their kids in a nice cool environment. Shows start at 10:00 AM and they show something different each week. I believe next week at the Arboretum is Happy Feet, a favorite of my child.
One good thing about this is that if your child is too young to sit through an entire movie, you can get up and leave without feeling as though you've wasted a lot of money. Also, at the Arboretum there are $1.00 drinks and $1.00 popcorn. You really can't beat it.
Call 704-540-7558 for Stonecrest Cinema and 704-543-4581 for Arboretum Cinema for schedules.
I called Stonecrest and was told next week's movies are Doogal and Barnyard, the next week Jimmy Neutron and Hoodwinked and the next week Rugrats the Movie and Garfield - Tail of 2 Kitties.
Arboretum is set to show Happy Feet next week, Over the Hedge the week after and Hoot!

That is a really good idea! Did you also know that this Friday at the Barnes and Noble at Carolina Place Mall they are hosting a free showing of the first Harry Potter movie. Also here in Ballantyne they are having movies Fridays at the big tent in the Ballantyne Corporate park. For the adults be sure to check in on the Ballantyne Village theatre. They run old classics during the summer for only $5. We saw Monty Python and the search for the Holy Grail on the big screen it was great!
