18 Comments on The Power of Active Rain – Connections are made every day!
Thanks for reminding all of us of the Power of the Rain. I love your posts! When we are ready for a VA, we will think of you! ( another great connection ;) )
Hello Anne! What a superb post, and you included all of the relationships you have built during your time here on AR, which is the biggest benefit to all of us. You have a keen ability to share your passions with us here in the rain, and I thank you for that. Also, best of luck in the contest, you should do well with this one! :)
Excellent post !! however, I am a bit disturbed to see that my name was not referenced !! ha ha Very good points. I have made a few connections too.
Anne Marie- What a great conclusion with Brad's quote on a super blog post. Lots of energy and positivity with this one. Active Rain is an amazing platform with tremendous resources. But like you said, it is so much more in terms of allowing the opportunity for people to build relationships, whether it be agent-to-agent, agent-to-consumer or any other combination. Like you said, we would never have met you if it was not for Active Rain and we are so glad we did ! Lastly, the biggest benefit for all the members is the ability to grow your business. Like you said, your business has benefited greatly as has ours since we joined Active Rain !
On a side note, what I thought was really cool was in reading an article in the most recent Realtor magazine, I saw Lisa Udy quoted. She has a great blog ! If one wants to learn how to build a better blog, SEO and the like, she is a fantastic resource.
And one more side note (lol), the wine tasting event was so much fun. Stephanie and I really enjoyed meeting up with you. It is awesome for us to take a little break and so great to do it up in Lambertville / New Hope. Look forward to the next one ! ~ Chris
Yes, excellent post and superb points! It's a veritable gold mind of information, connections and friends here in AR.
No question you make valid points on the power of Active Rain. The greater your participation the greater your gain.
Anne Marie,
What a wonderful post. I've only been here a few months and am so impressed. Love the people, learning and community.
All the best, Michelle
Ok there must be some kind of contest going on? Excellent information and links galore:)
Hello Smiley! Nicely written and presented post filled with excellent advice and examples.
You really have to have your head buried in the sand to not be able to take something positive away if you actively participate in the active rain blogs and forums. Everybody's experiences will be different but it will happen at some point that somebody goes out of there way to help teach you or to reach out and give support.
Thanks for the reminder. I get asked this question frequently but I don't think you get it until you get it. Once you're involved, it makes a lot of sense.
Jim and Linda - what a sweet compliment - thank you and so happy you enjoy my posts and would love the opportunity to work with you one day - so true - it's all about connections!
Lisa - thank you so much and thank you for putting this contest together. What a great way to show value for particpating in the AR community - something I must talk about at least a few times a week with agents either using the system or contemplating using it. I am truly passionate about it because I have seen it work for myself and some of the agents I support. I also agree with the comment left by Chris Somers - so many people should be following your blog - they will certainly learn a lot from you!
Eric - LOL - you got me on that one - perhaps in a future post there will be a mention - you already took the first step in interacting with me so you just never know :) I will be making my way over to your blog to check it out. Thanks for stopping by to comment and interact.
Chris - Yes, I certainly thought the quote captured the message I was trying to convey and I owe AR a lot for allowing me the opportunity to share my experiences and knowledge and extend my reach beyond my local community. There is certainly opportunity here to form some great relationships, like you said, on so many levels and actively participating in this forum is what will propel your business. I agree the wine tasting event was so much fun and I have to say that for anyone who doesn't know the Somers Team "yet" they should seek you out, read your blog and follow you because you both have so much knowledge and truly care about your clients - in a word - you're "real."
Susie - thank you and like you said there's so much information and connections to be made that you can truly count on.
Norma - I couldn't agree with you more!
Michelle - thank you and welcome! I know what you're saying when I first started I didn't know where to begin and was so overwhelmed with the information and kindness of everyone. I can't imagine not being in the Rain.
Bill - LOL - yes, but this was a blog I was sharing despite - just made sense to post since Lisa posted her blog asking members to show either new or non members the power of the Rain - something I know you have benefitted from and know all too well.
Al and Peggy - LOL - yes always smiling and thank you for the nice compliment.
Morgan - LOL - so true - everyday I learn something new simply from visiting, reading, blogging and commenting. I also have the same experience of peoploe so willing to help one another out and always feel so supported. So nice to meet you and appreciate you stopping by to share your experience.
Cheryl - You're so welcome and I agree - you don't really know the true benefits until you get in and experience it first hand - great point!
Anne Marie, Don't you love those surprise calls from other "Rainers" ? I absolutely love hearing from a "viral" friend. Last night I got to meet one in person and it was like I'd known her for years. You're very right about the friendships AND the business!
Anne Marie, there is a lot of power in Activerain. But, I must say, in your situation, there is a lot of power in "Anne Marie." You consistently post well thought out blogs that are well put together and informative. So, your taking the time, and working this hard has paid off for you, and Activerain has been a vehicle to give you exposure. That is my humble opinion.

So very true!
Active Rain is so great for business, friends, therapy and life in general! :)
It is so awesome to hear about all of the success stories you have had and will continue to have. People seek you out because you are amazing. AR is an fabulous forum for education, relationship building and a platform to tell your story. I haven't regretted a minute of being on Active Rain this year and can't imagine where my business would have been without it. I wish you continued good luck Anne Marie and look forward to your next post.
