Charleston Winter Events

Real Estate Agent with Carolina One Real Estate

Enjoy Charleston and Summerville by attending one or more of these fun family events. Here are a few of my picks for the upcoming month. Hope to see you at some of them.

Southeastern Wildlife Expo

Location: Charleston Downtown-various locations

Date: February 12, 13, 14, 2010

Contact#:(843) 723-1748

This is one of my favorite events of the year in Charleston. There are wildlife exhibits all over Charleston, mostly in the historic district. Over 40,000 people attend and there are over 500 exhibitors. There is everything from animal presentations (falconry and such) to art sculptures to lectures on wildlife conservation. The kids will love the animals and enjoy learning as well!

Lowcountry Oyster Festival

Location: Boone Hall Plantation Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

Date: January 31, 2009

Time:11am-5pm

Contact#:843-577-4030 Price: $8 (Pre Event Price, $10 at the gate, kids 10 and under admitted free) If the weather decides to warm up, this will be a fun event to bring the family to at Boone Hall. Hosted by the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, there will be 65,000 pounds of oysters and lots of other yummy food to choose from the area's other popular restaurants. Activities will include the "Oyster Shucking Contest", the "Oyster Eating Contest" and local live entertainment. The kids have their own children's area with lots of fun things for them to stay happy and entertained. You can buy your oysters buy the bucket but make sure to bring your own knife or you will have to purchase them there. Have a great time!
