We spend today looking at how much time should you spend before you manage to narrow down on that dream home your family has been waiting and planning for? It seems easy to say a few weeks, but a really determined buyer who is motivated to buy would actually wind down his or her search by the end of 2 weeks, there are those who take a few years, but you are quite sure the 2 year or more buyer is not exactly motivated or determined to buy. Your real estate officer or agent is always open to your needs or wants and that’s what makes the agent a good one! The agent aims at showing you those homes based on your requirements. The agent will preview the home before taking you to see it.

Research on dietary habits has stated that your memory is better when you eat carbohydrates than sugar, so try not to have too many soft drinks while looking at homes, keeping in mind you will see anything between 7-10 homes in a day and if you were to venture looking at more it would be a burden on your brain’s memory bank. You might get to see more than 20 homes but how do you remember details of each home? Well a good thing would be to bring a camera if your target is 20 or above.

Why is it that when we shop for a new home on sale, we tend to find the right specifications and the price and then continue looking at more homes just to know you have found the right one? This can only turn your decisions all haywire; if you find something that suits all that you have listed including your price, just stick with it! It is more likely that you would see 20 other homes and then come back to this one.

Normally what you should do is bring a camera and take close-ups of numbers of each house, that way you can identify the group of snaps that belong to which home. Also learn to put down a set of notes on each home you see, on the colors or certain specifics of design and other unusual features. Put down the specifics on the neighborhood, things that you like, be it that you have a park nearby, a next door neighbor or the homes around you with 2 storey that hover over your home which is single storey, but remember to grade each home keeping in mind a scale 1 being the least and 10 being the most in terms of your preferences and other factors as mentioned earlier.

When you’re done with your tour of looking at homes on sale, make it a point to see the homes that come to your memory because you would be using it as a comparison to the other homes, inform your agent that you want to see those homes again. The second time you see these new homes you will most definitely identify features of the new homes that you may not have seen or overlooked when you first saw the place.
