Every market is going to differ. Well priced REO properties in our area rarely last on the market long enough to sell for big discounts off the asking price. On the other hand, the current asking prices are often half of what the previous loan amounts were. The bubble was real, here, and prices inflated beyond reason. The banks are often selling houses in the $200K range that had loans over $400,000. I wish we had the time to do a careful letter of intent, but we'd probably never get the house.
