Murphy, NC in the Mexican restaurant parking lot around 2pm and the snow is wet and starting to come down now, but not sticking. About an hour and a half later driving home you can really see it has gotten worse.

This next photo we're stopped on Hwy 64 west behind five other cars and the DOT truck who has stopped to pull another DOT truck off the side of the road - not a good sign. Already seen an SUV flip right in front of us and another pick-up truck flipped. Next we finally made it up into Wolf Mountain and we're headed down our street...almost home now.

Evergreens are just hanging and covered with snow. Finally made it home - Still snowing and more to come!
Haven't seen this much snow since we moved to Murphy, NC back in 1997. Snowball fight anyone?

Lee, great photos!  Thanks for the heads-up.  Northern Virginia is supposed to be hit with this later this evening.  My kids are bummed because it's a Friday night and no chance of school closings.

I never thought of North Carolina as a place where it snows. Friday afternoon has to be one of the worst times for a storm. Looks like you have a great view from the deck!

It's coming your way Craig. Kids will have all weekend to be out tubing, sledding and just having fun in the snow.

We do have a great view, but it's a white-out now :) We usually get just enough snow to enjoy, John, but this year looks like everyone is having crazy weather.

Glad you have the snow and not us.  We have had our fill of it...but I hear we may get about  6 inches tonight.  Oh, I am so ready for Spring.

I'm glad you made it home safely.  We had cold temperatures but very little snow.  We were blessed with a sunny day.

It's the gift that keeps on giving, Carol.  Never mind, Spring is around the corner.

This is not what I would have expected from your area - I have bare ground here in New Hampshire.  It seems mother nature has gotten confused!

Lee and Carol - I keep seeing the snow posts and wondering why I have this strong urge to head south.
