Rielle Hunter requested a North Carolina count to suppress a supposed sex-tape of her and John Edwards while she was pregnant with Edwards’ child.
Edwards’ ex-mistress was granted a restraining order against former Edwards’ aide and confidant, Andrew Young whose tell-all book The Politician has just been released.
Young has admitted that he is in possession of the tape which he says shows Edwards having sex with a woman who he believes is Hunter. Hunter gave birth to Edwards’s child in February, 2008.
According to Hunter’s affidavit filed in North Carolina Superior Court, she stored the miniDV tape in a hatbox in her NC residence in mid-2008 and when Young was asked to retrieve her passport, he took the tape. Young later lied indicating that he was the father of her child, Frances Quinn, while intimates of the Youngs, Edwards and Edwards campaign insiders knew that Young had had a vasectomy.
Edwards recently admitted to fathering Hunter's child.
Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth, have been married since 1977 and have 4 children including a deceased son, Wade. The Edwards separated recently and according to NY law, they can be divorced in 12 months.
