Were Does The Water Come From

I read an article that talks about water leaks in the home. It stated that water related insurance claims for water, comes from the 2 most common causes for water leaks are from the roof and the washing machine. It went on to state that a person can help lower their insurance cost by installing high pressure stainless steel braided water lines on the following: All sinks, toilets, refrigerator, water filter systems, dishwasher, and the cloths washer. By doing this, it will take the biggest risk of water leaks out of the equation in most insurance cases. So get out there and change over all of these water supply lines and give your insurance company a call to let them know that you have converted them over to the high pressure stainless steel braided water lines. Lowes has the washing machine braided kit for $19.95. This is a very cheap insurance policy.

Mark, have you called your insurance agent about this?  Curious as to the response.  Thanks!

David,

Yes I have, and I received a 10% discount just for this action. I have started to recommend this to all of my clients when I perform a home inspection. My suggestion to all concerning this is to call your agent to see just what they offer? If they do not offer it to you, at least you will have the peace of mind knowing that you have drastically reduce the chances of a major water leak in your home. As for the cost? I spent $45.00 to replace all of my supply lines. 2 toilets 3 sinks, dishwasher, ice maker, water softener, washer, and hot water tank.  That is a very cheap insurance policy in its self. Thanks for the question David.

Especially when you buy these new GINORMOUS front loading machines and the water hoses are behind them. No time for an old school rubber hose back there!
