On my journey to my place in ActiveRain - now a member of the elusive BRONZ club with 50,000 or more points, I have been asked to reflect back on my journey - and what better place than to start at the beginning..

I read in Inman news on July 12th that ActiveRain was celebrating its 1 year birthday.  The day before I read in the Official ActiveRain Blog :

SEATTLE, July 11, 2007 - ActiveRain, the world's largest social networking site for real estate professionals, marked its one-year anniversary today by surpassing 35,000 members and 120,000 posts, and projecting monthly double-digit growth over the next 12 months.

Well, of course being a good member, I stopped in to wish AR congratulations and a Happy Birthday.

Then for some reason today I wanted to look at the very early points I received when I realized that I first signed up for my ActiveRain blog on June 17, 2006.

This means I have been on Active Rain longer than ActiveRain has been live!!!

So, does this mean that much?

No, I just thought it was interesting that they don't celebrate their birthday until mid July when they were obviously were online back in late June.  I wonder how many of us were already here on day 1?  I wonder of those original bloggers are still active?  If you notice, back in the day, they awarded points for being selected as someone's ASSOCIATE - looks like 100 points for the first 5 then 25 points after that.

I would be interested in the answers to these questions...if for no other reason that I pride myself on the wealth of totally useless knowledge that I have amassed over the years and this would fit in nicely.

Also, is there anyone out there who has been here longer than I have...I'm sure there is so step up and identify yourself...

Mike Mueller - It really is amazing how time flies - I really like the links you provided.  Wonder whatever happened with the ActiveRain lead generation program...hmmm, wonder what they are up to with that?

I really like the original Google - I have a collection of Google logos that they release for each of the holidays - have you noticed them - pretty cool stuff

Mike Mueller - Thaw was just plain MEAN.  I struggle to make sure I log on on a holiday and there are times they surprise me - like I have missed Mozart's birthday every year so far - imagine that.

Mike those are great logos. I remember Valentines day this year the logo had an error in it, do you remember it was missing the second l. Just useless trivia anyway.

 Kimberly Grant - Thanks for the kind words and stopping by. As I have mentioned in the past, most of my blogging is geared at educating my consumer readers.  I don't want to sound ugly or anything, but to be honest I don't care very much about the "social" networking side of AR.  I guess you can say, been there and done that.  However, When my peers, like yourself, genuinely find me because of the value that I bring to the table, well that is just a blessing.  Not only do you benefit with the information, I benefit with the recognition of my peers and my consumers benefit because it will be easier for them to find my articles and gather the same information for their own personal use. 

Does this make sense?  I guess it the hip lingo of the day, you could cal it a "win-Win-Win" situation.

 Rosemary Brooks - A pretty face that keeps turning up everywhere.  Thanks so much for your support.

As a little side note, I live on hillside property.  The perimeter from the flat part of the land to the downhill slope is all bordered with wild Rosemary - and it always smells so good - especially now, this time of year when we have triple digit weeks - the sun just bakes it and the warm summer breeze we get every afternoon just carries the aroma right into the house.  I love Rosemary

oh what a nice and kind thing to say.  Made my day as I hope that I have your in some way. Where you live sound so peaceful and beautiful.  I get the Tracy winds but no smell of Rosemary in the air!  Just dust, smoke and some other stuff I can't recognize!  Sometimes I even think there's some other herbs in the air!!! But not for sure.

I am happy that I can find your post because I do indeed get value from reading and learning from you.  Your value is priceless.
