Feng Shui in Great Neck Long Island New York...Feng Shui and Wealth

The lovely Long Island town of Great Neck is located on the North Shore of Long Island NY in Nassau County.  I think of Great Neck as an "exotic" little town with a bustling Main Street and even by Long Island standards, it's an expensive place to live.

Both Feng Shui Long Island and Feng Shui Manhattan frequently get called to consult on a home or business located in the affluent town of Great Neck.  It's ideal for many residents for the feeling of Long Island as it's located close to the water while being only a very short train ride away from New York City.

Great Neck offers a variety of homes from Apartments to lovely Condos and very affluent homes.  Last fall Laura Cerrano and I did a Feng Shui Consultation there for a lovely home.  Our client was a businessman who was fortunate enough to not only live in Great Neck but to have his business there as well.

When a potential client calls for a Feng Shui Consultation over Wealth issues, they often want a Home and Business Consultation done.  While we do make that an option, we will often suggest they start with Feng Shui for their Home.  In Feng Shui we believe your Home SUPPORTS your business.

For reasons of privacy, we are only showing a side view of our client's home.  He was in the process of putting in a compost pile to do his part to "Go Green."  We are often asked in Feng Shui for the best placement for this and, in our own personal opinion, we want to keep it out of the WEALTH area which is the back Left-Hand corner of the property.

We often suggest moving it up.  As much as we want to help, there is no "perfect" area for Compost.  It is considered "Dead" Energy but we DO want to keep it away from Wealth and Relationship areas.  Our client was able to relate his loss of income from his formerly prospering business in Great Neck NY to the time he began his compost.

This photo shows the back Left Hand corner of his yard where it used to be and the new placement of where it was relocated to.  His business began to pick up again almost immediately.

Feng Shui in Great Neck Long Island NY by Laura Cerrano Feng Shui Manhattan NYSide Year:  Compost was in the back and being moved to the squared off section.  Recommendations for the Wealth Area for this Great Neck home included a plants that stay green all year, a Wind Chime and using the Accent Color for Wealth which is Purple.

The Exterior of your space should be given as much consideration during a Feng Shui consultation as the Interior.  Feng Shui is NOT "just" furniture placement; it is a lifestyle and it's Energy!

Hi Carole,  Very interesting.  Not being familiar with Feng Shui, I was wondering if the areas you mentioned, for example, Wealth, would fall in the same places for an apartment as a single family home.

Those are very impressive results.

I always learn something new by reading your blogs. I never knew that about the yard. We pile our cut branches and dead leaves in the back left corner too! I'll move them tomorrow, after the snow melts. Have a great weekend Carole.

Interesting -- can certainly see why his fortunes improved when he moved that.

Hi Carole, Several months ago you mentioned the left hand corner of the rear yard as the Wealth area...the reason I remember?  You see, I had a compost pile of leaves there.  I moved them, and I 100% have seen improvement in my business.  I always enjoy reading your posts--and I take them to heart.  Cheers, Harley

Carole, if you go to Dallas to see Steve, can you route through Kansas City? LOL The part about your home supporting your business sounds a lot like what my coach is saying to me. Thanks for another wonderful post on Feng Shui in Long Island.

Carole,

When you say back left corner, do you mean as you are facing it from the front door of the house (ie' on your left as you face the back)? The reason I ask is that I placed my Norfolk Island Pine in the back right corner of our house (my right as I'm facing the back of the house from the front door).

I bet this client was so pleased with you.....I hope he recommends you to everyone he knows!

Carole what a great story.  I have a question though-what do you do if that area is wooded and wet?

Fred, He's doing well.  People often forget about their yards in Feng Shui.

Toula, Certain things have dead Energy....such as dried flowers.  These things should be kept out of our spaces inside and out.

Steve, Someday I may be....I haven't been to Texas yet and am surely missing a wonderful state!

Elyse, We start at the Front Door and use Career.  Your Wealth (inside and out) is always in the back left hand corner.  Your Relationships is always in the back Right hand corner.  We use the Front Door of your Apartment, not the complex itself.

Linda, They should be moved.....If you can before the Chinese New Year which is Feb. 14th this year.

Donna, I know I can only give general information but I hope it helps.

Carolin, Not a surprise, right?  I remind people to check their areas :)

Harley, I'm so glad you stopped by to tell us that!  Feng Shui does work and even simple tips can help!  Thank you so much for sharing.

Maria, I'll made a detour :)  I always thought of going cross country one day...who knows?  :)

Jackie, We probably did mention it; people just need to learn some basics to start.

Gabriela, Thank you, I appreciate it.

Jo, Right, you are facing the back of the house as seeing it from standing in the Front Door or front of the yard.  You have it right.  The back Right Hand side (while facing the back) is your relationship area...think in "twos" in that area.

Debra, You can place something there in the accent of purple....That is the accent color for Wealth.  You can also hang a Wind Chime in that area....remember it's about Intention as well so do it while focusing on more wealth coming in.

**If you come back to read this, please see Harley's comment #8.  Feng Shui does work :)

Carole,

Oh, I thought that was the wealth area (back right hand corner as I am facing the back from the front door). I guess I better move my Norfolk Island Pine to the other side then, right?  I think you said we should have an evergreen in our back left corner, the wealth area.

Carole,

I just had to come back here to comment.  After reading your post, I realized that the back left corner of my yard is my doggie's favorite spot to "do his business."  :-)

Since trying to change the doggie's preference would probably be futile, I'm wondering what would be some good steps to counteract this ...

Picking up ASAP is the first obvious one, which is basic good housekeeping anyway ... But what else, maybe a windchime hanging from the fence in that corner?  A special potted plant?  A statue of some kind?  An evergreen tree wouldn't quite fit properly in that area..... Thanks!

Jo, An Evergreen in Wealth is best....and add an accent of purple (even a ribbon).  The Realtioship area is the back right when facing the back of the house from the front door or sidewalk.

Cheryl, Anything that stays green all year is the best.  If you can't do that, enliven the area with a wind sock or a wind chime --on a shephard's hook.  If that's your pups area, you won't retrain him...we'll just work around him :)

Yes, (and thank you for watching my back here!!).  It's February 14th, Valentines Day.  Please do whatever you can on My Chinese New Year blog (which should have been up already :(
