Ralph...
OK, I'm really thinking about this. I hope that I don't see the answer before I figure it out!
They're at the market where there are many people with sacks. They borrowed a sack to hold the lentils while the peas were transferred.
My head hurts this morning. I've thought about the problem for a few moments without formulating a solution, and so I'll wait for the "reveal" which I'm sure will "surprise and amaze" us all.
pour in lentils to innkeepers sack tie sack half way
pour in peas into innkeepers sack and tie it
cut hole in bottom of inkeepers sack (If that is allowed as it states that you can't cut a whole in the farmers sack but said nothing about the inkeepers sack)
No hole cutting is allowed!
I think I like the idea of using other sacks -- good thinking outside the box. (sack ;-)
How do you keep a real estate professional in suspense?
Answer to Brain Teaser #2:
Pour the lentils into the innkeeper’s sack, bind it and turn inside out. Pour in the peas. Then unbind the sack and pour the lentils back to your sack.
