When I was first encouraged to join ActiveRain, I didn't really see a purpose to it. I was a Realtor, not a writer or a journalist. I couldn't see The Power of ActiveRain.

As I continued to blog on my own, and read the blogs of others, I continued to see my blogs show up in search engine returns for specific subject matters that I had blogged about.

While that was interesting, what was more valuable to me was that just a few short weeks after I started blogging, my Mission Valley condos web site started showing up on page one of a Google search. My web site had been up for three years and never showed up on a Google search, although I never made it past page 25 to see if it was on page 26.

Could it be a coincidence that after three years, Google decided not only to index my web site, but to put me on page one? Not likely. It's The Power of ActiveRain! You'll notice that I have links to my web site on my ActiveRain profile page and in all my blog posts.

Fresh content each week or day in my ActiveRain blog means fresh content for my web site, and Google loves fresh content. I now include my blog post URL on all my marketing materials, which include a home safety and maintenance DVD, brochures and flyers, business card, my Open House Survivor Kit, my listing presentations, etc.

Take advantage of the love affair between Google and ActiveRain by coming out to Play in the Rain with us. And forget about what your mother told you because you will not get all wet or catch a cold by Playing in the Rain. You will, however, enjoy The Power of ActiveRain.
