wow - that is an antique - I remember being in paris probably 15 years ago and being able to call home and put lots of francs into the phone - as your money ran out you started to hear a clicking sound and you would start talking faster and faster to finish your call before the money ran out.

I used to work for the telephone company and you're right, I can't remember the last time I've seen one.

I recently saw one of these in the cayman islands. I wasn't sure at the time if it was on display as an antique or for people to use!?

The last time I saw one was in the movie , Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.  And, when you do happen-upon one, the equipment often does NOT work.

The last time I did see one - whenever that was, it didn't have a phonebook. That's a find. :)
