Many months ago Russel Ray, Marketing & Business Consultant, convinced me to join ActiveRain and start blogging.
So I did. And what do I have to show for it? Knowledge, extended family, friends (even conservative ones, I think☺), virtual travel throughout North America, and so much more. It was hard, though, especially when my first few posts got few comments.
In honor of my reaching 400,000 points this past weekend, I thought I would go see who joined ActiveRain in January 2010 and introduce some of them to you as my way of giving back to our Community. Go visit them. Welcome them. Leave a comment in their blog. Make them feel like a part of our Community.
These were the qualifications to make my list:
- Joined ActiveRain in January 2010.
- Must have uploaded a profile picture.
- Fewer than 10,000 points.
- At least five blog posts of their own, but no more than 10 — We're talking newbies, remember.
- No blog posts with more than ten comments.
- 75% positive — In other words, if all you did was rant and rave about politics, sex, religion, etc., without offering solutions to what you were ranting and raving about, you didn't make my list.
If you see "Not a Rainmaker" by their name, encourage them to upgrade to take advantage of the love affair between Google and ActiveRain.
