So I thought I would do a community service and give you all some google juice. What the heck is Google Juice you say? Everyone is getting google juice from their blogs right? Well if you're not, you should be! Check it out...

See that photo of me at the bottom of this blog? See it? And you see those links next to it? Yeah it's giving me google juice! YUM! See, all my blogs have that so those links are linking back to my website www.JeffRainwater.com where people can do things like search Homes for sale in Snohomish County. Every time I link like that, the search engines think that someone searching for Homes for Sale in Snohomish County will likely want to see my website. (THEY SHOULD!) This is known as GOOGLE JUICE and it gets you a higher ranking on the search engines.

SO....today I'm giving away free google juice! Here's what to do....

In the comments section below I want you to put exactly this....

"Hi Jeff! Thanks for teaching me about Google Juice and thanks for giving some Google Juice to my website www.JeffRainwater.com where people can search for Homes for sale in Snohomish County Washington!"

Put exactly that but change the website and the two links to link to YOUR website instead and change the location to wherever YOU sell homes! BAM! I just gave you some google juice! If you don't have a website, make a juice comment linking to your activerain profile, or heck, juice mine up some more!

Well, firstly I disagree that Bing is dominant. According to comScore, Bring had 11.5% of the US search market in Feburary, which is up 44% from last May when it launched. One would think their growth would be taking business away from Google but that doesn't seem to be the case. Google has actually gained share as well. It represented 65.5% of the search market in February, up from 65.0% last may.

So in conclusion, Bing is growing in share because it's new but Google is still growing in share as well and is still holding a huge majority of the search market share. Based on that, I would defanitely say that Bing is far from being considered "dominant" at this point, in fact I would probably conclude quite the opposite at this point in time. That may change later as Bing continues growth but we'll see.

Which one is better? Personal preference I guess.

As for Google Juice...I know less about how bing works because it's newer but I would venture to guess that it probably uses similar indexing algorithums. Things you do to increase your SEO on Google will likely also increase your SEO on Bing.

PS. On a side note. We conducted a little experiment and we found out that the comments on an activerain blog actually don't get crawled by google, only the last line, which is your signature. Go figure eh. Kind of throws off the whole premise of commenting on this Google Juice blog. =)

That is correct Jeff. Placing links in the blog comments section of AR does not directly give any google juice at all. The comments section are NoFollow.

There are some who believe that if may get you a bit of traffic or some contextual indirect google juice, however I am not a believer in that theory.

If links in comments were passed along any google juice, we would all be dining on SPAM with our juice!
