I don't know about you, but I am tired of buying things blind! I bought some new socks the other day (at Wal-mart), put a pair on, wore them that day, took them off and they had holes in them and a toe on each foot was sticking through the sock!
They were the most expensive package of socks that W
al-mart had, so this completely caught me by surprise. Maybe I should buy my socks somewhere else.
I threw that pair away and a few days later, tried another pair and one of those did the same thing!
I hate blind shopping! Blind shopping is when you buy things in packages that are sealed up and you can't look at them, feel of them, etc.
You might be asking, "How does this relate to real estate?" Well let me tell you...There is no reason to be buying real estate blind. Read the disclosures that are provided to you by your broker about your state's law, the condition of the property, etc. Ask questions.... of everyone that should have the answers for you. Ask your broker, ask local people about the areas of their jurisdiction such as road maintenance, etc.
Real estate does not come all sealed up in a package that you can't open. Open up all of the areas, walk through as many times as you need to, ask lots of questions and take notes.
Buying real estate is nothing like buyig socks but we can sure learn a lesson about buying real etate by buying socks!
You know I wrote this post and then I had a thought that someone would probably tell me that I needed to cut my toe-nails so let me say that is not the case...:)
