Internet STALKING.....I'm being Followed Wherever I Go!

This is apparently a new thing with Optimization "Companies."  To pull other articles and blogs from all over the internet and link them to someone's website so it helps THEIR rankings.  They claim that both Google and Yahoo endorse this but NO CREDIT IS GIVEN TO THE AUTHOR!

The best way to protect yourself that I can see is Google Alerts.  But this person is following me all over :(

Margo, I keep thinking that these people are absolutely desperate to do that.  And I'll tell you, as frustrating as this is, they will never last in business!

Andrew, A website made by a great SEO person will get you to the top organically.  And blogging on AR will keep you busy as well.  I sign onto many different sites and some work wonders.....you CAN get there without paying.

Jackie, They claim Google and Yahoo are aware of this practice and ENDORSE it.  Somehow I highly doubt it.

Hi Jackie, If I hadn't listened to her explanation I honestly may not have caught this.....I could not believe my blogs were linked to their website.  You can bet I will be watching their website from now on because it will happen to someone else who may not be aware of it.

Jo, I had spoken to Lenn's lawyer at one point.  In NY they didn't take this seriously until recently.  My lawyer knew exactly who I should contact and I can tell you if it happens again, this time I will. 

John, They will stoop at nothing and that's really sad in ANY business but especially so in this one!  I will not make any popularity lists with posting this blog but it may just help someone else in NY!

Dawn, I don't think they make one!  People have been plagarizing my articles and blogs for years and until now there was not much I could do.  They are certainly not going to have my blogs come up on their site!

Chris and Stephanie, Thank you for the encouragement.  I seem to spend more time trying to get this person away from me then I do pursuing things I want to do!

Leesa, Keep an eye on your things including your MY Blog Log community....if it happened to me it can happen to anyone.

Steve, Keep a watchful eye.  I think it's disgraceful that a company is offering this service!  AND that people would use it.

Paddy, Thank you for telling them.  They can't blame the company and "I didn't know" doesn't work under a lawsuit.  I would not want their karma either!

Myrl, This is something we ALL have to watch for now.  It's out there and goodness knows where our content will show up that is credited to someone else.

Deena, I've seen it before and there's no doubt I will see it again but it feels like an abolute violation...all of it.  I am literally being followed around the internet.

Hi Mitchell, I'm not sure but it might be the "duplicate content" penalty....There are people that know more about this then I do but I know you can be penalized by the search engines for this.

Yes, Sharon, It will, of that I have no doubt.  In the meantime it's frustrating that I have to watch where my words will end up.

Gail, I'd be very grateful, I have found my posts and articles far too often to feel flattered in any way.  Especially when I'm connected with someone I don't even know!

Laura, I know, I remember when it was done before.  I just somehow didn't think I'd ever have to go through it again.

Rita, It will but it gets exhausting.  I am having to ask other rainers to remove links I've found in their comments and the very next morning find a Google Alert with them crediting themselves for my work. Everywhere I go they follow.  Sounds like desperation if you ask me.

Craig, I know but it's very discouraging to see your work and someone taking credit for it!  I honestly don't know how this service is legal but I'm actually glad I heard them out or I wouldn't have known.   I do well on many searches and that's probably why I'm being stalked!

Teri, It is annoying and continues to be an issue on the web.  As they say in the art world, "good artist borrow, great artist steal"  their success is built on lies because they do not thinking outside the box and create their own ideas and eventually the truth surfaces.

Marti, I know and it is even more unfortunate with the profession we're in, you wouldn't expect that type of business move. It's just sad.
