 KitchenAiid Free-Standing Refrigerators

Me and my refrigerator.  Several years ago my husband and I took our kitchen down to the studs and redid the kitchen.  We have really liked it from day one.  It is not real large, but it functions well for us and is very classy.  We put in a top of the line refrigerator.  Everything was going fine until about early fall.  Then this refrigerator and I started doing battle.

In Minneapolis our energy company does offer a service plus program.  I have the refrig on that program.  Thank goodness I do as I would be broke by now calling about service people.  The problem is that the bottom two drawers, meant for fruit and vegetables, freeze the food.  Not funny when you go to serve an apple to someone and it is frozen solid.  Every part has been replaced on this machine but the front door.  They order new motors, temperature gages, and I don't know what else.  The service person leaves and promises me that all is fine.  I trust this person and but food back in these drawers.  Within days I have frozen food.  This is getting costly as you know the price of fruit and vegetables.

Yesterday, I had service person number six out.  I have had regular service people and I have had master service people.  There have been men and women out.   Some have been tall and others have been short.  They all refer to the past service record, examine the refrigerator, and assure me they have found the problem.  Not only is the loss of food getting to me but the time I have to take off to meet the service person is a pain.  In Minneapolis they say they will be out between 4 and midnight.  How many of us are going to sit up until midnight and wait for the refrigerator man to come?  Luckily this guy came at 6:00 pm.

It has not been 24 hours yet, but so far so good.  I put the fruits and vegetables back and this morning I did not serve a frozen orange to my husband.  The other day I did.  He asked what gives.  I told him to think of it as frozen orange juice without the can.

I do feel fortunate that in Minneapolis we have this service plus.  I inform all my buyers about it and tell them all you need is one service call and the plan pays for itself.  I figure they have me on caller ID by now and will no longer answer when my number comes up.
