It could have been the clean, clear air or the brilliance of the sun. It could have been the sights, smells or sounds that are Summer. Or just the fact that we were all together.....whatever....it was a perfect day!
Would this be the last "family" outing? After all my son is now 24. He only came with us today because that was what I requested as my "gift" . If that is what is to be... then I have something to remember! His Father has not been well. But he did well today. We laughed and teased, shared stories and sang to "Oldies"on the car radio. There were no harsh words, no criticisms, no complaints. We enjoyed each others company. I tried to sear it into memory. It was a perfect day!
On rare occasions there is a slice of time we can forever hear, smell, taste and feel as if it were always now...I received that gift today.
