18 Comments on TAKING THE DAY OFF... DO WE DO THIS IN REAL ESTATE?
Happy Birthday Valerie, hope it was a good one.
Happy Birthday! I hope that you were able to enjoy a day off... I know how tough it is to escape in the world of real estate.
I hope you'll remember me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC" and I will do the same!
Best regards,
Michael Caruso, Broker ABR ABRM CRB CRS GREEN GRI

H-A-P-P-Y B-I-R-T-H-D-A-Y Valerie! A day worthy of taking off!
When I take a day off, I still try to get my on-line stuff done.
Malcolm.. This birthday *was* and is VERY different than any other year. I've never been laid up do to having surgery 5 days ago. This is one for the record books.
Michael.. Thanks for the birthday wish. Yes, I took today off.. along with the last 5 days. Just got out from having surgery, and moving back into the work world slowly.
Wanda...I agree.. there is never truly a *full* day off.. more like just a change in scenery.
Happy Birthday Valerie; I'm also born in this month, I just forgot the year.
Valerie, we take time away from the office but not days off. When we are not in the office we are answering cell phone calls, emails, and text messages from clients and agents. Even when we are on vacation we always have the mobile device on hand. Guess we should re-visit what it means to take a day off. Hope you had a nice birthday.
Valerie, nothing keeps you down :)
Three more weeks HUH. Somehow I don't think you are going to sit still for that long :) :)
Hi Valerie- glad to see you typing again. :) Happy Birthday. And how cool is it, you share a birthday with my baby brother? Wonder if you are older or younger than him. He turned 40 today.
Belated Happy Birthday to you Valerie, I always appreciate the anniversaries of my29th birthday, don't you? As for time off, I operate under the accumulated leave/flex time system. When I can't do my outside activities, and I need the lights on, time off isn't that important. When I can come out of hibernation, I can steal my opportunities without interfering with the business. Be well
Kenneth.. You get to the point that the year does matter any more... I'm there too. What day this month were you born on? Don't want to miss the opportunity to wish you a happy birthday.
Bill and Karen... I fully relate to *not* taking a day off. Last Thursday I had surgery at 8:00am. I was home at 1:00pm, with instructions NOT to make any decisions that day. Guess what? I was on the phone following up on things that needed to be done. My sister flew up to help me and boy was she angry I was doing this.
Valerie....Happy Birthday. I think it is important for our mental health to take a day off. We work long, hard hours and are deserving of some down time. If we don't schedule it and make it happen, it won't.
George... Everything is taking longer to do than before. I don't see myself sitting around for three weeks either. I might not be able to drive, but there will always be ActiveRain to keep me busy.
Tammy... I know a lot of people that are born on Feb 2nd. Wish your brother a Happy Birrthday for me.
In answer to your question about my being older or younger than you brother, check out last years blog.
Ed.. How did you know I was celebrating my 29th birthday yesterday? You must be psychic. LOL.
Carra... I think our taking time off from real estate is good for our clients to. We come back more refreshed and can do a better job for them.
