I was thinking this weekend, what a better post to make than to help each other go from zero to 100 in 5 seconds.  There are so many people who are:

1)  considering leaving the business;

2)  Hanging on by a thread in the business;

3)  or just entering the business;

The problem with a lot of people is that their confidence is commensurate with their financial business success.  So what success principle or principles do you have to help your fellow AR'er jump start their business.  Also...WHAT IS THE FASTEST ANYONE HAS GONE FROM A START UP TO FINANCIAL SUCCESS IN THIS BUSINESS?

My tip?  I really believe in investing in my "A" clientele/sphere of influence.  I'm not big on the web (I know that's a sin on this site), or mailers (although I think that it's important to keep your name in front of your DB).  No...I'm big on investing in my A clientele.  That comes in many ways.  Mostly, it's frequent and constant communication (not harrassment) of my A people.  My database has been trimmed from 1600 to 800 to 400 to now just about 200 people.  Even within those 200, I have a DB of A clilents that really are about 40 in number.  Like I said, I don't harass them, but I do invest in them through client appreciation parties, personal communications, etc.  If you think about it, if I have 40 A clients and host 2 client appreciation parties annually, I do so much better than advertising and marketing at $200,$400, $800 or $1600 per month.  I have personal interaction and communication.  Mostly my "people" see the real me and that I care.   That's my tip of the day....

What does going zero to 60 look like to you?  What time frame and how do you measure it?

Amen brother! It's most important to focus of the people that will provide the greatest return. Once you determine who those people are, serve and think of them first and the rest takes care of itself.

I have to say that if you aren't taking advantage of capturing internet leads, you're missing out.  I've been in the business 4 years now and have pretty much doubled my business every year mostly because of clients who've I've come in contact with as a result of my web page.

Now business is growing rapidly as a result of referrals and also from past clients who are now moving on again but if you are just getting started in the business - advertise the heck out of your website.  Also don't just get a "boxed" site from an online company - personalize it so your personality and value system shine through loud and clear!

Best of luck!

Susan and Tony both bring up good points.  The website is the way to market nowadays... And focusing on  the people that will provide the greatest return ( our biggest fans) is important.  I am finding out that this is not easy to do.  There are so many distractions that keep us occupied.  Before you know it, the day has passed, a week has passed,  a month has passed and we still have not had the chance to connect with our referral base or work on those referral leads.

It's funny because I thought I would build my business over the web and have yet to have one client or listing from our internet site.

Hi Laryy -- I advertise my services on Craig's List.  Takes me just a minute or two to kieep my ad near the top of the page and I get at least one deal a month from it. Talk about a free deal!  Aloha
