If you need an appraisal in Washington, DC or Northern Virginia (including Fairfax, Alexandria, and Arlington), please head over to www.appraisalsguaranteed.com and order one from this certified residential appraiser!

With regard to parcel maps...

There are more tools available to appraisers (and to the general public) than ever before.  Often residential appraisal reports direct someone to a plat that is never supplied.  Or there is often this sentence: "no plat provided."

Elsewhere, on the form is a chance for the appraiser to describe the shape of the land.  Many times it is simply stated as "irregular." This slightly humorous considering most plots of land around here are rectangularly shaped .... In one recent circumstance, an appraiser described the shape of the land as simply a "polygon."  A polygon?  Really?  .

I have listed here, as best I can, the steps involved to get to a plat in a particular county.  From time to time, updates are made, and some of this information becomes obsolete.  Please feel free to email me any updates.

In some cases, the website works in only one type of browser.  There doesn't appear to be any pattern with regard to which counties operate the better sites.

In any case, to look up parcel maps in Northern Virginia, please navigate to a county, and follow these steps:
