Easy 15 Minutes To The Table Meal For Four

Like most Realtors I lead a very busy life and my schedule is well let's just say erratic. I try to cook at home most week nights and I have a rule that the meal can't take more than 30 minutes to prepare, I was a 30 minute cook long before Rachael Ray hit the scene, if I had know how much money I could have made cooking I might have pursued that instead of real estate. It is recession proof. BUt too late for that she already got the show and I'm already addicted to real estate so I'll just share my recipes for free. Men and their wives used to travel from all over the country to hunt with my dad Neil Cost the reknown Turkey Call Maker and to get achance to talk turley with hiCooking with Sally Morrism and sometimes they would spend a couple of days at our house while they were in town and he would always treat them to his Ham Fried Rice. It became the most requested meal by the majority of the visitors. So I'm going to share this family recipe with you.It feeds four or more just increase everything if needed.

Ingrediants

1.Center slice of ham

1. Minute Rice

3. Bunch of spring oinions

4. Bean sprouts (canned is ok but drain really well)

5. 2 eggs

6.Soy Sauce

Prep & Cook

Cook rice according to directions for 4 servings

Cut oinions in to pieces stems and all set aside

Cut ham into small bite size cubes and saute in a skillet with a little bit of oil about 5 minutes or so.

Scramble two eggs and add to ham and toss until done. Add oinion and stir those until tender another 2 or 3 minutes. Add bean sprouts don't stir just lay on top and cove,r cook until wilted if canned or tender if fresh.(you may need to add a small bit of water about 1 or 2 TBS) Add cooked rice and mix it all together then add soy sauce to taste. Add alittle and mix it up and taste until you get enough. You can always add more at the table.

It is a great meal in minutes add a salad and some bread and you're ready to eat. Try it and let me know how you liked it!

Sally - great post on a subject I stress over often!  BTW - someone told me that Rachel Ray gets 50mm for just the TV show... pretty amazing!

Tom Davis I should have put a sticky note on there that you can substitute the ham for any meat and you're good to go :) so Bon Appetite.

Tom You're welcome. Better yet keep it a secret and go home one afternoon and tell her you're cooking tonight and spring it on her she'll think you are the best husband ever.

Sally ~ I am a quick cook too. So, I will take advantage of your family recipe. You made me think of a old Italian recipe I make all the time. I have to laugh. My daughter called me her first semester (small dorm room w/ 50 + kids per floor and 1  shared kitchen) to ask me how to make it. Now she is the smart one, but lacking common sense child. Never cooked at home, although my son did. She calls all the time (moved into a condo) and cooks for everyone (like he Ma..)

Moniques share that recipe with us! I'll try it out for sure. my girls like to cook now too my yougest hated my cooking when she was little, probably too many spices fr her little tast buds but now she asks how do I make this and how do I make that. It makes me smile. She loves to bake which is not my forte so I look forward to when she gets the urge to bake. She also came up with a really good quick way to make what we call pizza toast. I'll share that one sometime in near future.
