HOWTO TRAIN YOURDRAGON
by
Cressida Cowell

How to train your dragonI really enjoyed this book.  I would recommend it for anyone starting at about age six, especially if they love humorous books.

It’s about a boy named Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, who is the son of a chief.  He needs to become a Viking.  The first thing he needs to do is catch a sleeping dragon.  He ends up getting the most common little garden dragon, and to top it off, it has NO TEETH!  Hiccup named him Toothless.  However, he did one thing wrong.  Hiccup cans peak Dragonese, which is against the rules.  But, since he can talk to Toothless, he thinks he is able to train him better, but Toothless runs off and gets into trouble.

Find out if Hiccup becomes a hero, if he gets exiled, or if he gets into even more trouble.  This book is an exciting, funny, adventurous, and down right silly book about a boy and his dragon.

Well done Meesha!

Dragonese is similar to Snake as spoken by Harry Potter isn't it? Don't you just love the Reptilian languages?

Meesha -

A good selection as usual.  I just returned from the land of the Dragon -- Taiwan.  The people there have dragon images all over the place....even (maybe even especially) on their temples.

And dragon eggs have been a theme in their art and literature for centuries, too.

The idea of training a Dragon is especially enticing....

Do you think reading this book would help me 21-year-old son control his dog?

Thank you everyone for the comments and I hope your relatives love the book as much as I did. Mr. Hale, my dad says you are going to be posting pictures from your trip soon and I can't wait to see some of the dragon pictures.
