It never ceases to amaze me the vast amount of personal information that people spew forth on various channels of social media. If the government, or anyone, asked us directly for this, we would be absolutely furious!  But because it's our choice, we give it out freely.

I think we've all had occassion to wish we wouldn't have tweeted, youtube'd or posted something. Once it's out there, there's no retracting it. So I wonder if we will become a culture with a little more grace now, and be a little more forgiving and understanding with each other.

We've seen this happen to politicians for years-- with everything they've ever said being publicly displayed and  endlessly rehashed. This is probably the reason why lots of good people avoid running for public office. Maybe this will change, too!

Barb, I'm not sure it will change much. In fact it might get a little worse.  Not everyone is capable of thinking about who will be reading their posts.  Not everyone is a good writer. And, it is really easy to miss read the tone of someone's writing.  Remember how easy it was to upset someone when email first came around?
