Something happened to me today while writing a blog post on Trulia that it made me laugh out loud and I just HAD to share.  After I was through with my witty prose, I hit submit.  Imagine my surprise when I was flagged and told in bright red letters:

Trulia doesn't allow profanity.

What in the world did I write that Trulia flagged as profanity?  In the sentence "...not hard on the eyes", it flagged "hard on" as profanity.  It would not let me submit the post until I changed the offensive phrase.  While "hard on" was profane, "hard for" sufficed nicely.  I didn't mean to use profanity, I swear!

Heather - ROFL!  You've got to be kidding me!  That's considered profanity?  Slang maybe....thanks for a good laugh tonight.

It actually took me going through the blog 3 times to even find this little bit of "profanity", Heather.  But, I think that the viagra spammers is a good guess as to why they have to be extra careful.

I LOL'd, but I didn't ROFL, Donna. ;P  I couldn't believe it when it popped up on the screen.  Oops!  Will AR flag me for profanity for using the phrase "popped up"?  LOL

I think "hard" is OK, John.  In fact, "on" is perfectly acceptable I am sure.  However, the use of "hard" in conjunction with "on" is frowned upon.  At least on Trulia.  :)

You shouldn't be so hard on them. I love your profile pic, btw. That lipstick makes it look like you have wet lips.

That's funny, Dennis.  When I used to commute to work, I would pass a building company who had "Erections" displayed prominently on their building as part of their name.  Made me laugh every time.

I found it pretty funny, William.  Not dumb.  I think Heather above may have hit on the nose with them being so worried about SPAM.

Hi Heather!

Yup, we have quality control measures in place for certain words or phrases to help curtail spam. Didn't know that would be frowned upon.

Thanks, Will.  I'm trying not to be "hard on" them.  You're not the first man to mention the lipstick in the photo.  I didn't realize men had a thing for lipstick.

Hi, Rudy.  I applaud the quality control measures and don't have any trouble with that.  I just thought it was funny that they saw "hard on" as profanity.  That's all.  As you can see, others found it funny, too.  I actually had to go through the blog post 3 times to find that one instance that these two words appeared together as well.  So, your quality control is REALLY good.  I hope I didn't offend you with my post. ;)
