Several of you had read one of my previous blogs and commented that you would like to know the outcome of the redesign I did on my mother-in-law's living room without her permission.  Well, today we brought her home from the airport and as we were pulling into her drive way, I told her she should be prepared for a surprise.  I told her if she didn't like it, it could easily be changed.  I think she thought I painted the walls or something, which I would never do without permission.  She was probably relieved when she found that I had just moved around some of her furniture and accessories.  She wasn't upset, but she didn't seem overjoyed either.  I was not disappointed by her reaction in that she isn't the most demonstrative person, but I was delighted when she called shortly after we got home to let me know that she really liked it.  If you didn't get to see what I did, you can click on the link above for before and "in progress" pictures.  We are not done yet.  She wants to paint!

 Oh, man...do I wish I had the guts to do that to my mother-in-law!  Way to go!

I did the same thing.... She told me she LOVED it!  My sister in laws all loved it... the next time we went back (months later) it was all back to the original way (which really doesn't work AT ALL in my opinion - you can only use 2 of the 6 dining chairs the rest are up against a wall, etc).  One of my sister in laws actually asked her if they should move it all back the way I put it so I wouldn't be offended.... lol!  It's her house... she should be happy... I was just trying to make the space work better... sometimes you can't teach an old dog new tricks as the saying goes....

You are a brave girl . I used to do that with my Mom, but she never liked it - she had it how she liked it in the first place.
