As a professional Home Staging Expert I have the privilege of helping hundreds of sellers with the preparation of their home. I find it fun and challenging, but in the end it is always rewarding as we hear of the great news that another house sold and sold quickly.

When staging your home to sell it is important the selling features of your home be evident to the potential buyers. It does not have to be a hard process. Remember this...what is the buyer ACTUALLY BUYING??

When they purchase your home, they are not purchasing your furniture or artwork, they are purchasing your flooring, cabinetry, countertops, fireplace, architectural elements of the home. We need to show them these things. They are also looking for SPACE...BUYERS LOVE SPACE.

I have found that too many times clients have their furniture arranged in a manner that actually makes the space look smaller...so here are some simple rearrangments that we did that make a dramatic difference...both in photos on the MLS and in person.

LR BEFORE...There were too many blockages in this room and the selling features, once again, are not begin shown

LR AFTER...The room appears much larger, the floors and large window are now evident to all, and there is a clear path for buyers to walk around when viewing your home.

In this LR Before pic the room seemed long and the conversation area did not seem cozy.

LR After..Here we angled the furniture and changed out the area rug to create warmth. By removing some dated features the room is fresher and younger...in the clients own words. They were thrilled with the small changes we made, but it made a huge impact on the buyers first impressions.

Staging your home for sale can be as simple as decluttering and rearranging. While this may seem like an easy solution it is always advised that your leave the furniture arrangement and accessorizing to the expertise of a home staging expert.

Phyllis, you're so right.  Sometimes it's as simple as just rearranging.  I find the trophy display in the first before picture quite amusing.  It's also funny how some people think you're not allowed to put a sofa in front of a window.  I love this  rearrange - the red and taupe furniture is nice to begin with, but now it looks stunning.

Phyllis,

I just love the furniture arrangement in your after photos.  Each room looked so much better after your Staging.  Most of all I really like how you end each of your blogs...leave the Staging to the expert!!!  Also when you said "We do this everyday".  Practice makes perfect so another reason to call someone who knows what they are doing!!!  You must get a lot of Business!
