11 Comments on BlogTour USA - Candace's Question in Columbus
Excellant! Glad to see you put it to good use!
Good thing you commented here Elaine. I saw your comment on Cheryl's blog and got all bent out of shape over you commenting there and not here. I am kidding of course....
I think Tom must have told me about the question because I remember something aout the help desk (why would Joe say anything about the help desk..... ) I got an email from Candace, I had sent here the first two options and asked if she had asked the help desk. She had not yet. I doubt they would offer Cheryl's idea.
Maureen,
Thanks for the post. I had read Cheryl's post as well and am now motivated enough to send this info over to my web guy. I'm not even good at monkey see, monkey do! LOL
Thanks again! (Maybe I'll see you at the convention in September)
Kaye ....hmmmm better exposure for your blog? I was not there when Candace asked the question but I understood it that she wants to promote her website link...not have a bunch of URLs to try to promote.
I had my first blog on my Point2 Website via RSS when I was paying for a professional or a premium level website. I think it would help your website have fresh content. Point 2 now has blogs.
Carol is the convention in Columbus this year?
Yep - convention is in Cbus! LOL I'll be at the Hyatt along with a couple hundred other Realtors, Brokers, etc.
I'll have to make sure I take your number with me. Would love to meet you!
I hate conventions.... but I'd like to meet lots of the ActiveRain folks including you Carol. hmmmmmmmm
OK, I've been thinking about this some more.
Like Kaye ask, what will be the benefit? It's my understanding that spiders don't read through frames. I was speaking with the sales rep for my web hoster yesterday to make sure my site doesn't use frames. Since the html code that Cheryl uses is putting the blog in a frame, the blog won't be read by spiders, therefore, it won't pick up that the content of the site is changing/refreshing.
So it seems it would be more beneficial to merely have the blog linked. Whaddaya think???
Well, Maureen, it seems as though you may have to make a trip to the convention at least for one day! LOL
I like convention. Lots of people, lots of new faces, lots of monkey business! LOL Sometimes we have to let our hair down. With out group it's more like - what happens in C-bus, stays in C-bus! ;)
Elaine: If you are just doing it for SEO it may or may not be worth it. If you are doing it to add content to a website for people or to increase the opportunity of someone finding /reading your blog, it is worth the effort IMHO. I was reading the source code the way Cheryl's method and the way the link I have CBB on and I think Cheryl's way gives something for the spiders to read, the way I like the look of it (link page) I think it is framed by what the source code says.
Cheryl wrote "The html function I used is called an INLINE FRAME ... And it's purpose is to embed one HTML document within another. There is no FRAMESET involved, so your meta tags and keywords are all still available."
Carol: I had my hair cut off... no hair to let down.
