My husband and I just recently drove from Rome,GA to Pennsylvania to visit his brother and wife.  In Rome we have suffered from a drought that is worse than it has been in over 150 years. Until this month we had a deficit over 19 inches.  In spite of all this our foliage has managed to stay lush except some choice lawns have been burned.  Thankfully we have had rain and now everything is gorgeous again!!!

Which leads me to this wonderful fact 10 million jobs have been created in America this year, and the interest rates are rising!!!!!   Atlanta, Georgia has been pin pointed as the 3rd best city to work as far as income, housing and sociability for graduates getting a start in business.  Rome, Ga is located about 60 miles northwest of Atlanta and Rome has in fact it's own economy.  Rome has wonderful medical facitilies and colleges to extend your education and a gorgeous housing market, with lots of NEW growth within the city the developers keep us guessing what is coming next.  So if you are thinking of moving......think of Rome to call home.  Governor Sonny Perdue announced Rome, Ga as the #1 Small city to live, work and play!

Hi Jennifer,

I'm in Douglas County and we've really been enjoying the recent rain as well.  My lawn has been brown all summer and is now looking green again and of course is ready to be cut.

Rome, GA This is good news - wonder if some of that will come to Michigan soon.

As to the drought, We have not had rain all summer, it just seems to go right around us. I had severe foundation damage done to one of my listings Friday due to the severe dryness of the earth.

More than just great rates
I visited Peachtree City last year and it was a very nice place. I was amazed at the length of the golf cart roads... What a nice place.

Wynne,

That is awful that the drought is so bad up there that the foundation was damaged.  Did the insurance pay to fix the damage that could be really costly for the owners!  I hoep it all works out!  Take care!
