Redwings Just Passing Through Virginia Beach

By
Real Estate Agent with Fathom Realty

Here are some pictures of what I call Redwing Blackbirds.  They came to roost behind my house in Virginia Beach and also on my bird feeder.  The flock of birds actually consists of about three or four different species but I like the Redwings the best.

Red Wing Blackbirds have a beautiful song Gene, though we like the Blue Jays a lot as well because they are so cheeky

Love seeing various birds migrating.  Once we had a day of robins in Naples (they usually do not come this far South)  It was quite a sight! :-)

I figured the birds didn't like the snow...they must be cold

My marketing guru's bird book says that you do right to call them redwing blackbirds. According to this book, they live throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Gene, to hear the song of the redwing blackbird in my neck of the woods means the return of warmer weather.  A bird I enjoy seeing also.  thanks for your photos.    ----Gloria
