The summer is about half over and my bet is
kids are beginning to get bored and Moms are searching for
activities to keep the kids busy. If that is the case with your children, here are some activities you may want to check out to keep you and the kids happy.
The Onslow County public library is offering
summer reading programs which involves "lap" kids through 5th grade. Check out the
calendar which shows, dates, times and activities in Jacksonville,
Swansboro, Richlands and Sneads Ferry. One of the most anticipated events is the Harry Potter party on July 21st at the main library in Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring camps for all ages:
- Day Camp
- Adventure Camp
- Athletic Camp
- Arts and Crafts Camp
Take a look at the
calendar here for more information on dates, times and location.
Another marvelous
summer program is the one offered by the N C Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores. There are activities for children from 5 and up available every day through Labor Day. Some of these programs do have a fee. The family night on Thursday night is a great adventure for everyone.
I hope this will help you and your kids make it through the end of the summer. Remember an involved child is a happy, learning child.
