Urban Village

By
Real Estate Agent with Prominent Realty Group

This mixed use project was originally announced in early 2005 during a high point in the Las Vegas market. At that time, even the name urban village was a buzz word for a trendy place to live. In 2006, the project was considering closing down due to rising costs and other economic factors. The project received new life when Centex stepped in and bought it.

Urban Village is now being developed by Centex Destination Properties, the second home and resort community development arm of Texas based home builder Centex.  The residential portion of Urban Village, called the Brownstones, will offer condos and lofts for sale. The project will have the usual faire for an upscale address including pet stations on the grounds. Included in the project is onsite retail and dining.  The project is being built on Las Vegas boulevard, touted as the "south" strip by the developer and offers 12 different floor plans.  Its actually just over 6 miles away from the Mandalay Bay, (where the strip really starts for those of us that live here). Centex has modified the property a little from its original scope as its no longer being billed as a live/work property.

The project broke ground in June of this year, so it's still on shaky ground(here are the canceled projects). Centex Destination Properties has built properties in several resort markets. For more information about Las Vegas high rise condos and lofts, visit our website at lvrealty.net. -Charles

With the changing market many projects are getting canceled everywhere. They will be back on track in a couple years when things swing back to a sellers market.
