Are you still "Getting ready to get ready?" Time is wasting...

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential

I just read Bob Haywood's featured post on Active Rain titled, "How to research a neighborhood or subdivision for a blog."

The post is a series of steps Bob uses BEFORE writing a market report for a neighborhood.

Honestly, it seems like a ridiculous amount of work...

By the time one is done "researching" a neighborhood, I have written 10 market reports and they are generating leads...

Real estate is a numbers game.  Don't forget it.

Get out there and do.  I don't care what it is that you do.  Just do it...

Research?  Research is usually a stall tactic.  An excuse for inaction.

It keeps you from accomplishing your dreams.

Don't be tricked.

Just do it...

You will sell more houses.

Ken...

I'm going to have to experiment with some market reports. It seems like others are getting good results with them!

Hi Richard and Ed.  Thanks for reading.

Richard, you should.  My January goal of 33 reports was one of the best things I have done...

Thanks everyone and good luck,

Ken

Numbers for sure, the more you meet or talk too the better odds of selling or having someone buy using you as an agent.

Hi John and Janna.  Thanks for reading.

I am picturing thousands of Active Rainer's attempting to write market reports.  None of them will finish because the get so bored reading HOA rules and regs!:)

Just get out there and start working the market reports!

There is a balance for sure. Timing and content are equally important if you ask me. I know plenty who start blogging and in their haste they concentrate more on quantity than quality. It is getting that delicate balance down that works best!

Hi Bill.  Thanks for stopping by.

I bet you know more people that never started blogging because they are still researching it...

Ken,

I liked Bob Hayward's suggestions. In my mind, a balance of stats and other data will hold great appeal.  Most of Bob's tips are ones I could do in very little time - like today, when I'm snowed in!

Hi Irene.  I know you liked the suggestions...

Reading the HOA rules and regs (I could not imagine doing a more boring thing)?  Meeting all the original homeowners?

Before you write the report??

Thanks for stopping by,

Ken

One more thought Irene...

You could do them, but would/will you?

Will anyone?  Other than Bob, that is...

My goal is to get agents to DO things...

Not start researching, lose interest, and accomplish nothing.

Thanks again,

Ken

Ken,  I agree completely!  Something is better than nothing.

One question for you, do you ever get any concern from homeowners who aren't excited on having a picture of their house online?   Seems most people would enjoy the novelty of it but I was curious what your experience was.

Hi Mark.  Thanks so much for reading.

No.  No one has ever had a problem.  One lady seemed quite excited (see the historic district:)).

I have felt a bit funny sometimes...

I feel it has doubled my business...
