PALM BEACH GARDENS COUNTRY CLUB COMMUNITIES CONTINUE PRICE DECLINES

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty of the Palm Beaches

Palm Beach Gardens country club community homes continue to decline in price as sales of higher priced homes remain stagnant.

For buyers interested in an active country club community, this is the time to get your search underway.  There are wonderful opportunities for buyers in most Palm Beach Gardens area country club communities.

In Ibis Country Club, for example, the number of homes sold in 2009 is down to less than half of what it was in the peak year of 2005.  Just 72 homes sold in Ibis in 2009 compared with 151 homes sold in the community in 2005.  More of the lower priced homes are selling, those under $400,000, than higher priced homes.

In 2009 there were 35 percent more homes sold in the lower price brackets in Ibis than those sold in the higher brackets, $400,000 and above.

And prices are down about 15 percent from 2008 to 2009.  The lower priced homes sold on average for $136 per square foot in 2008 and fell 15 percent to $115 per square foot in 2009.  The higher priced homes, those selling for $400,000 and above, fell in price from $224 per square foot in 2008 down to $189 per square foot in 2009, a 16 percent drop.

In early February, 2009 there were nearly 200 homes for sale in Ibis Country Club.
