"I'll Take Sales Tips for $200, Alex"

Services for Real Estate Pros with Obbee.com

At my home, we are big fans of the show "Jeopardy!"  I am a huge trivia junkie, and enjoy matching my memory against the contestants.  My kids like to watch it also, even though they're too young to answer most of the questions (or, I should say, question most of the answers).  Part of the reason they watch is to see how well my wife and I do- they're our own cheering section.  But the main reason is that they like to learn, and learning from watching the game show is fun for them.

Really, learning is still fun for me as well.  Every time something comes up that I didn't know, I mentally file it away for future reference.  Since it's within the context of a game show, I never feel dumb for not knowing the information. so my "fragile male ego" doesn't get bruised... I was thinking about it, and when it comes to learning about sales, I wondered what ideas and sales skills & techniques are taught in such a way that they are fun and non-threatening?

Books are one answer, because you can read them yourself, on your own time.  If you're worried about your clients seeing you read a book about sales or body language or negotiation, you can curl up at home with it (especially on a snow day).  The internet, too, is a marvelous tool, much for the same reason.  There are so many resources (including Active Rain) and articles online now, that you can search for just about any sales topic and find an almost unlimited number of tips and suggestions.  Unfortunately, I have yet to come across a game show for salespeople...

Obbee approaches sales in a different way.  We're not a treasure-trove of helpful hints, necessarily- We offer sales leads to professionals in the real estate, insurance, mortgage and debt/modification fields.  We use the internet to find prospects that match up specifically with certain services and products to make the best possible sales matches... I guess that would make us more like "The Love Connection" than "Jeopardy!"
