President Obama ~ This Ones For You!

By

President Obama likes to bow when he meets other dignitaries.

  • He bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia.
  • Recently he bowed to the Mayor of Tampa.

When President Obama traveled to Japan last year he bowed deeply to the Emperor and his wife.

  • Many critics attempted to point out that in Japanese culture this gesture was indicative of deep sorrow and apology.  Liberals defended his action by saying it was only respectful.

  • Why would a President of the United States bow to anyone?
  • Why would he express through his body language sorrow or apology?

For those who attempted to tell the rest of us it was simply a sign of respect - Here is a lesson in BOWING 101 from the President of Toyota.

The President of Toyota appeared on TV to explain is companies plans to deal with the millions of cars caught up in a massive recall.

More than one death has been attributed to gas pedal malfunctions in various models. One would say this man has a lot to be remorseful and apologetic for.

He demonstrated his deep apology. This is an illustration of how meaningful a bow is to the Japanese culture.

President Obama -put a broom handle in your pants if you need to - but for Heavens Sake stand up straight and tall for the United States of America!

Bonnie,

I totally agree. I guess all of those intellectuals from universities never learned common sense. When you are only book smart you miss out of real life lessons.

In Toyoda's culture, this is a sign of respect and he is apologetic * Obama's bowing OUTSIDE of the US is totally inappropriate!

Wallace,  That's what we were trying to tell the ill informed Libs. Too bad we have such unsophisticated people advising this President.

Because he is sorry for all the bad things this nation has done to the world.  we are the culprits not the good.  He is an extreme radical.

Hilarious post!

Obama has forgotten that the reason Americans don't bow is specifically because British subjects bow to royalty. We do not.

Will,  It goes back a long way.  When our country was founded and for 100 or more years people who were titled dropped it when they came to the US.  It became a point of scorn. No one was due anymore respect than any other by virtue of birth.  In the latter 1900's it was once again fashionable to claim royal lineage.

Heads of state are considered equals.  Queen Elizabeth is not the head of state however she is Royalty.  Obama is a head of state and does not have to bow to her, but Michelle is required to curtsy. Not put her arm around her in a gesture of familiarity.

Whoever is in charge of protocol needs to be sent the Dummies guide.

I think people get caught up too much on images, and what we look like to someone else.  America is a great country, but you cannot deny some of the ill treatment Americans inflicted on other countries trying to make them accept Bureaucracy as the best form of government for them.  Not all countries feel it is best, and WE should respect their wants.

Obama bowing to the Saudi King was blown out of portion.  Obviously no one schooled him on proper ways to greet the Saudi King, because maybe there was no documented formal way to greet the Saudi King.  And if there was, why did no one brief him?  Was it someone's intension to allow him to do what he wishes, and see what happens?  If we had so much pride about what we look like to other nations, why did the President of the United States not get the memo?

Perhaps, Americans should be realistic and really get that outside of the United States maybe other countries look at us based on what they've come to know about our nation's ugly past.  Showing pride and having that broom stick in the pants thing can also be construed as Americans being egotistical, and non-sensitive to others besides themselves.

I am American. And Love being an American.  But we are not perfect in all we do.  No human is perfect.  Bowing, curtsey, shaking hands, does it really make a difference?  I'm sure after the Queen stood around them for a few minutes realized it was out of sincerity that those gestures were made..and that they were warm, and genuine.

God Bless!

Raine,  The administration is responsible to hire a protocol officer and listen to them.

No head of state is any higher or deserves any more respect than any other head of state.  That has been in place for generations.

Once our founding fathers secured our independence, they vowed never to bow or bend a knew to heads of state or monarchs.

When have you seen a forgein dignitary show deference to our President?  They do not. The significance is huge.

Did you ever see Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State bow to anyone?  She knows better.

No nation apologizes to us. We have nothing to apologize for.  We have liberated and fought more foreign battles in the name of democracy than any other country.

I expect the President of the United States to step into his role and maintain the dignity of the American People without compromise.

Antonio and Alexia - Are you REALTORS?  Perhaps you should attend some NAR meetings.  In Harrisburg last month we were called to action by the NAR through our state chapter.  We were encouraged to become active in politics as it had a direct impact on our local markets.

After all, a  portion of your dues go to the NAR PAC fund.  All Realtors therefore participate in the political forum. There is nothing in this country that goes on politically that does not affect our industry.

Too bad you think you can just dance around the issues.
