Farm your niche market and cover all the happenings in your neighborhood
I thought this was a great tool, especially since my farming area has 39 condominium complexes. Instead of putting arrows on pictures to focus on a specific condominium building or entrance, I can blur the condos and buildings that don't apply.
I disable comments on posts that I reblog, so click on the link below and comment directly in Matt's blog.
While I don't recommend using this technique for all photos of a listing, it does make a very cool effect. I would use this effect on the postcards or flyers that you SHOULD mail to all the neighbors around the home for sale.
The effect is called tilt-shifting, or swing and tilt. It makes real time images look like tiny minature models. Sort of like a model train set. The effect works really well when you can shoot down on your subjects.
Yesterday I was taking pictures of my wifes listing, which was high on a hill overlooking the San Francisco Bay. I was able to get some great shots of Oakland and San Francisco, but the real joy I got was looking right down to the houses below.
Does it not look like a little model or what?
Imagine your the neighbor that gets a for sale postcard from you with this photo on it. They would know it looks familiar, but their is something odd? they will probably call you just to find out how you did it. Your conversion rate might reach about 97% on your postcards... probably not.
This effect is really easy... if you have photoshop and about 5 hours to kill you can tweak with the filters, or if you're like me (Lazy), you can go to http://tiltshiftmaker.com and tilt your little heart out
How about you guys, tilt some listing photos and add them to the comments, I would love to start a thread with some really cool photos.
