Me-Me Me-Me Double Me!

By
Real Estate Agent with None

Okay, I'm not trying to be vain - I got tagged twice

I must apologize - Marchel Peterson tagged me with a MeMe several weeks ago and I have waited too long to post.  In the meantime, Ashley Drake Gephart tagged me again.

If I read the rules correctly, I need to find 5 interesting or unusual things about myself and post them.  Sine I got tagged twice I will try to come up with ten things.  It will be tough - I'm not exactly living the lifestyles of the rich and famous here!

  1. I love turtles - I don't know why I just do.  If you see a minivan on the side of the road in Central NC and a crazy lady helping a turtle across the road that could be me.
  2. I am an avid reader.  I don't read to expand my mind - I use it as an escape.  My husband is always griping that I have too many books - tough!
  3. I dream about visiting the medieval castles of Scotland and England.  I like to read about history from the regency period.
  4. I hate raw tomatoes.  Don't put a slice on my sandwich - don't cut 'em up in my salad - and if I order it with no tomatoes I really mean it!
  5. I wish I owned a small convertible.  A Mazda Miata or something like that would be great.  Not a practical car but I would love to own one anyway.
  6. I am fascinated by older homes.  I would like to live in an old restored farmhouse - the history of old buildings draws me in.  Sometimes you can almost feel the people who used to live there.
  7. I do not like to let the gas tank get below 1/4 full.  My parents used to run out of gas all the time and we had to walk.  Make fun of me if you want, just get some darn gas!
  8. I love to cook.  Again, my mother didn't cook much growing up so I enjoy cooking and trying new things.  Just don't call me Martha Stewart!
  9. I hate cleaning!  I know this doesn't go with the one above but I hate cleaning.  I'll do it when I have to but I'm not going to enjoy it.
  10. I hate the smell of the fake Vanilla soaps and air fresheners folks buy.  I don't know why but the stuff makes me feel sick.

I would nominate someone else but most of the people I can think of have been meme'd several times.  If you want to do one send me an email and I'll tag you.

Yo Rita!!  I'm with you on the loving to cook but hating to clean!  I love how it looks and smells when it's clean but don't enjoy actually doing it.  (unless I'm ticked off and need to vent)  This goes for the cooking and not wanting to clean up after...why should I do both?  LOL  I've also been known to rescue a few turtles in my time...my boys love it!  Sometimes we take'm home!

OK, put the tomatoes on my sandwhich (share them between Thesa and I) but I'm on with #2, 3 (I did visit 10 midevil castles about 8 years ago in England, I dream of going back), 5, 6 (I go to Galveston just to visit the antibellium properties and swear I do see them sometimes!), 8 and 9.  Excellent meme

Nice post Rita -- but, pleasure reading . . . what is that?  I think I'll get to take that back up once my kid hits 18 ;)

Paula,

Thank you for stopping by - I am glad we have a few things in common.

Thesa,

You can have my tomatoes!  I am surprised at all the comments and the chance to learn about so many other folks.

Mana,

I haven't read those before - I'll have to put them on my list.

Susie,

I don't even like to clean when I'm mad - I usually find a good book to make me forget or sometimes I take a walk to clear my head.  I love the smell of clean just as long as it isn't vanilla!

Chris,

You've visited Medieval castles in Europe?  I'm jealous!  Antebellum homes are cool - we have a few around here and they are fun to visit.

Tina,

I read after the kids are in bed - it is one of my few escapes.  Half of my closet is full of bookshelves.

Rita great meme. I think I am your parents! I have to say my mother taught me how to make dinner, I can make reservations like a pro! As far as the gas goes well let's just say if it wasn't for my husband I would be calling AAA more often. He went out of town for 3 weeks and had to remind me by phone for several days before I finally got more gas in the car.

Hi Rita,

Since you like turtles take a look at this.

Baby sea turtle, less than 20 minutes old. They are protected in Zihuatnajo, Mexico. The eggs are buried in a large sand box (of sorts) at the edge of the time share we stayed in. Eggs are harvested every day or so and the turtles are collected. Several times a year they have a "release" of the turtles into the surf at sunset. Over 1,000 were set out to sea, they say fewer than 5% survive. It was quite an experience.

I love fresh homegrown tomatoes and can stand at the sink and eat them, but I don't like winter ones on salads or ANYWHERE. I don't even get them on Wendy's hamburgers, yuk.

I am also a avid reader, I read 3 -4 books a week. Well it has slowed down since AR came into my life. Thanks for letting us get to know you better, Paula. It is fun to see how much we have or don't have in common with our on-line buddies

Jack,

Thanks for stopping by!

Ashley,

Run out of gas too many times and your kids may obsess over it :)

Lynda,

Thanks for the cute picture - I would love to have that experience.

Ginger,

Cleaning is never any fun, is it?

Teri,

Thanks for reading about boring little ol' me!

Leah,

Glad I added some humor to your day.

Missy,

Reading is one of my few escapes - I am amazed at how many people agree with some of these!

I'm a newbie and still trying to get a grasp on this blogging thing. I really enjoyed your blog about yourself, it's a great way to get to know someone. I don't understand what being "tagged" means but I guess I will learn along the way.

Thank you for your kind comment on my recent blog try of "I'm a big, blogg, blooper". I did get several comments and it really made me happy that someone took the time to read it.

I even got a couple of comments on my blog about chronic pain. It was really gratifying to talk to two other people who understood the huge problem of finding doctors with the knowledge and courage to treat people in pain.

I am really enjoying this network and am looking forward to meeting more nice people like yourself. This business we are in can be fun and rewarding, but it can also be lonely. It's great to share ideas and I am so happy to have found Active Rain.

Best Wishes, Judy Bowes, Grand Junction, Colorado

Daniel,

I am still learning more about blogging every day and Active Rain is a great place to learn.

Judy,

Someone a long time ago started this whole "me-me" concept.  They wrote 5 things about themself and when they were done they asked 3 others to write about themselves.  That is what I meant by being tagged - two nice folks I met on here "tagged" me in their last me-me.  When I got to the end of this one I didn't tag anyone but I should have - if you want to make a try of it let me know and I will tag you.

Hi Rita:  Nice meme!!  I saw some great sea turtles on vacation beside our boat.  I was hoping to see some while snorkling but they got away before I was able to see them.

I love to read also.  I read instead of watching television.  I have always said you could never have too many books.  I'm starting to think you may need room to have all those books as my daughter is taking that advise to a whole new level.
