Yesterday's prediction that a Nor'easter was scheduled to hit Boston and Metrowest Massachusetts set people into a virtual panic. Even as of this morning, local meteorologists were promising that up to 12 inches would blanket the area.

Weather forecasts yesterday and last night sent people scrambling into the grocery stores stocking up on milk, bread and other staples in fear of the worse.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation, in preparation for the big storm, had 1,100 pieces of snow and ice equipment out on the roads and at the ready. I wonder how much it cost the state to do that.
The prediction has been downgraded to less than six inches of snowfall. But, as I am looking out the window - there is actually no snowfall.
How does the expression go? It's better to be safe than sorry.
