Received this email today....

Obviously I signed the petition and will use the Facebook option to garner more signature's...

I am AMAZED anyone could seriously consider this woman for the job of President of the United States...?????

She couldn't even make it as a governor....SHE QUIT ...Q.U.I.T....She Quit.....Five colleges and never finished and couldn't make it at anything she ever began...

THE ONLY people cheering for this woman are CHRISTIANS because they THINK a Christian President can change Washington.....

If God and prayer could, would or should change Washington ...God would if He WANTED to......regardless of who the President was, is or will be....

Is there NOT a smart Christian out there you could get behind? What happened to Huckabee? or even Romney a Mormon is far better qualified than this silly "hockey" mom...

Please don't be foolish enough to destroy what little is left of the Republican party.....

THE EMAIL.....

Linda --

Sarah "Death Panels" Palin was at it again this weekend when she gave a speech
she received $100K to make.

In her big speech at the right-wing "tea party convention," Palin had the gall to blame President Obama and Democrats in Congress for the mess that her party created in the first place. Well, here are the facts:

Jobs Lost

</>

Debt

Republicans must have very short memories. Maybe Palin forgot about the exploding deficits, skyrocketing unemployment and collapsing financial system George Bush left in his wake as he left town. Don't let Sarah Palin turn back the clock to failed Bush policies.

Help us jog Sarah's memory.

Sign our letter to Sarah Palin: We haven't forgotten that Republicans created this mess and we won't stand for your smears. We'll include the two graphs above and your signatures.

Thank you,

For Dan...

Alaska's oil and gas industry has produced more than 16 billion barrels of oil and 6 billion cubic feet of natural gas, accounting for an average of 20 percent of the entire nation's domestic production (1980 - 2000). Currently, Alaska accounts for approximately 13.4% of U.S. production.

source

She was incorrect, but at least it was based in reality...

Linda,

You bring up the debt, yet Obama is taking the debt to amazing new levels by following the failed policies of FDR and Bush... yes, Bush.  He promised change, yet has consistently lied about transparency, no-bid contracts, the condition of the country and his own performance.

By next year, Obama will have signed more deficit spending that Bush did in 8 years...  All tghe while he blames EVERYTHING on Bush.  He won't even take responsibility for bills HE signed.  The $400B Omnibus bill that was passed by this Congress in 2009 and signed by him he passed off as part of Bush's budget... and that was why he was willing to sign it with all of the earmarks he promised not to allow...

Mr. Goglucci,

Your Christianity or lack thereof on ActiveRain should concern me BUT it does not... it is between you and your maker....

just pointing out the FACTS that you have a Christian group to which you NEVER post because you are so busy running EVERYONE off your Top TEN (?) Political group who is NOT acceptable according to YOUR standards..

Which BY THE WAY are VERY DOUBLE..

You throw all of us out of Silent Majority... Tell us NEVER to comment anywhere you are remotely associated with or to...

and then you have the audacity to come on my post in a group you swore NEVER to go because we are so BENEATHE you  ...just so you could have your "whatever" say to me ???

LOL LOL LOL LOL....

I said it 18 months ago when I first encountered you and I will say it again... If YOU are what a Christian is then Dozens of people who have read your words on ActiveRain DO NOT want to be one...and MANY have said so....

If I did not have the Lord Jesus Christ living inside of me and you were all I knew of Christianity  I would have to agree with the many who have said as such about you...

Therefore it is I who is quite astounded by your warped sense or style of Christianity....and by the way... you are the one who CLAIMS you are BETTER than all of us.... you know.... Obama praying people and Liberals... .... not the other way around..

I KNOW WHERE I CAME FROM and I KNOW the deep ugly GUTTER I was in when Christ saved me....on Feb 5, 1979 when he entered forever in my heart and filled me with the Holy Spirit...

I will continue to walk the gutters showing Liberals, sinners, Obama followers and the like the LOVE OF JESUS...

You came here to MY Post.......... I did NOT seek you out....

And your comment is so RIDICULOUS...There is ONLY ONE LORD and NO ONE compares to Him..... NO ONE

Lane,

I agree, The spending has to be reigned in... I do believe Obamas economic advisors convinced him spending more and more was the only way to stimualate and re grow the economy BUT a year later it is not working and at the very least it certainly is not working fast enough or providing enough return on the investment nor procurring the originally intended result....

I so admire your stance and on track commenting... Certainly as I have stated before  ..you, Mike S. and Will and Dan Sanley have much to offer Politically and continue to do so in a way that leads to UNDERSTANDING the Issues..

Thank you...and keep up the great work...

Much of what I was going to say has been said already. Linda, and I mean this in the nicest way, you need to watch something other than MSNBC.  You're not getting the whole story.

Will,

Thanks for keeping it simple... Being just about the ONLY Obama supporter left in these groups not afraid or concerned with getting hit by the "gang"..they all came out..

I DO NOT agree with the spending policies of this administration....I am not satisfied with the economic picture ..at all...( Read my comment to Lane)

I am however happy he pulled (and is pulling) the troops out of Iraq...I think he is doing what needs to be done (and swiftly) in Afghanistan,,,I am in favor of Health and Insurance Reform and pray they get the RIGHT bill together this time....I feel as safe as can be expected in the DANGEROUS world we live in...After all 9/11 happened under the Republicans watch so why would we feel safer under one party or another..Either party is concerned with Keeping AMERICA safe..wouldn't you agree ?

I NEVER watch MSNBC... I used to watch Rachel Maddow but I have not even switched over to watch her show in a couple of months or so ,,

The little I now watch is CNN Rick Sanchez for NEWS.... Larry King Live for entertainment and Anderson Cooper 360 for commentary and the past month it is mostly about Haiti..

I sometimes watch Fox in the mornings ..also for my news....

As for Palin ? Being a wonderful witty charming Christian IN MY OPINION is NOT enough to make a good President... We face far more dangers in the real world than appointing the right Justices to overturn Roe versus Wade..one of the main reasons many people are behind her,,,

I do not believe she has got what it takes ..I personally would NOT feel safe under her watch... WE NEED A MAN to lead us.....Hilary is so tough and seasoned and vastly experienced she could have got the job done..

But a young hockey mom...sure if this were the '80's or maybe even the '90's..but in this terrorist Holocaust of enormous proportions moving ever further and faster in to technologically and nuclear devastating times...If Palin is all the Conservative have to offer this Country is in BIG trouble...

"Refreshing, honest and decent" is not gonna cut it in todays world......

It is so good to see you again...

I have been enjoying my time alone with God away from all this silly stuff...

Palin may not be an "idiot" as you elude to...BUT she is a very "silly" woman...

I DO NOT believe we live in a world where "cute" How's that Hopey..Changey  thing workin' out for ya' "....... is even remotely close to what we need in the White House..

It is a SLAP in the face to the Real dangers of Iran, North Korea, Mexico, Pakistan. Afghanistan, Al Quaida..and Nuclear Holocaust a Reality in the near or not so distant future ....

I comend you for your Stand against abortion...

and I know Palin gives you Hope to realize that stong and ferverant prayer of yours....

We live in complex and Dangerous times and yes you go right ahead and pray she wins because I understand your goal...

and I will continue to pray the Republican party comes up with someone who can handle ALL the problems we face as a great Nation....because we do indeed face far more than just killing babies.....

Calling Sarah an unqualified  silly hockey mom who has a History of Quitting things... is not a 'Stone" it is a fact.......

If I call you... somewhat lacking as a journalist.  cute, chubby and Bald is it a "stone" or a fact ?

If you and I had met in another place and time and not around certain people I can assure you ...we are very much alike in our zeal for our Lord and Savior and our goal to reach people for Christ....and we could have embraced and worshiped the Lord together...

My spirit bears witness that you and Mary are joint heirs with Christ... and you both are pleasing to God...

I must have missed the latest news.  When did Sarah Palin declare herself a candidate for President?  From what I understand she is merely a spokesperson for the Tea Party movement.

It's ok for you to belittle and criticize Sarah Palin, but not for others to criticize the actions of Barack Obama and his administration.  It's ok to assail Nick for his actions, but you fail to take responsibility for your own.

Thanks for clarifying how Christan action really works.

Nick keeps order and sanity in SM by barring disruptive individuals from hijacking posts and being offensive. It is with the support of all the members in Silent Majority.

Bonnie,

was wondering where you were.... The 'gang" is almost complete.....Flag must be busy or he too would certainly have joined the party...

How utterly strange you have missed all the speculation HOPES dreams and aspirations of thousands of people, commentaries by media, journalists and Bloggers hoping Palin runs for President... Not to mention it is not unusual to see bumper stickers, signs and online pictures of Palin 2012..

i have even seen it here in AR.....

Because I find Palin Not fully equipped to be President and applaud her as a Christian and a mother you all take such offense..

Obama suffers constantly not only with attacks against his lack of Presidential qualifications BUT with total character assassination...He has declared Jesus as His personal Savior yet some insist he is Muslim...some Satan and others the anti Christ...

I'll leave that judgement up to God..

As for Nick.. He has every right to do whatever he sees fit...in his own groups.. If by assailing him you are referring to my pointing out my curiosity as to why he created a Christian group and never writes Christian Posts nor cares God's group ranks as 153 and he is Proud and brags his political group ranks in the top 20 where he is busy belittling Obama and his followers Well it does make one wonder....??????

and what I find odd he breaks His own rules ..I have NO problem Not ever going in to SM and I would NEVER comment on any of any of your gangs posts But he comes to a group he does not belong to and comments to a person he detests for what purpose?

And that you find enlightening as a Christian... Interesting....

OH I am 100% responsible for my actions... God sees hears and records every jot and every tittle....

When I stand before Him i will be naked and alone..... fully responsible for my own actions...EVERY ONE OF THEM......

My Point... seems to have been missed in here....

I would Never vote for  Palin..

BUT I am a Republican and would vote in 2012 in a heartbeat for Romney or another qualified candidate.....

I voted for Obama because my party threw us under the bus with McCain/Palin because they did NOT want to win because of the current condition of this country...

AND it worked... Obama and the Dems will be blamed for EVERYTHING and the republicans will win 2012 ...But please we need a great president not  a pretty silly likable one...

Lane:  Sarah Palin is confused (so what's new?)  I often wonder if she really is dumb or so clever and smart as to stretch the truth.  She even pulled you in, hook line and sinker.

Regarding her claims about how much energy Alaska supplies to the U.S.......

You quoted 13.4% of gas and oil.  This number sounds correct.  But this is for gas and oil ONLY, and Palin is using claims of 20% OF ALL U.S. Domestic Energy.  If she is "confusing" oil and gas with all energy then I will give her the benefit of the doubt (error); but she's been making this claim repeatedly and surely someone would have corrected her by now.  So even if in error, she is greatly exaggerating the percentage.  Not 20% but closer to 13%.  Alaska supplies a very small percent of coal production or natural gas production, and NO nuclear.  Her facts are doubly distorted.  She has a track record of doing this.

Someone here posted:

Yes, Linda God will let the United States self destruct if they do not change their selfish and greedy ways. Just like he did in Sodom and Gomorrah...How would Washington look in Pilars of Salt?

Yeow!  How did we get so far off point here?!  Linda Mae, I believe your point was that some peoples' judgments are being clouded by the fact of wanting a Christian or better yet a Christian Woman to lead this nation.  This is true.  Their common sense is being blinded by emotion.  No problem with a Christian president.   We have one now.

"God will let....if..."  Sorry but the God I believe in does not work this way.  He doesn't make deals and is not subject to human emotions.  He is a loving and forgiving God.  Forgiving even the selfish and greedy.  Sorry no fire and brimstone here.  He knows selfishness and greed will contribute nothing to the true wealth of man or this nation.  He also knows that the majority of the people in this country are not selfish or greedy.  We have been and will continue to be a loving and giving nation.  If he really does have any human emotion then he may be wondering why some of us are so divided and hateful.

Dan,

As ALWAYS ....the wonderful voice of Reason....

Did you see "Fran the man's" post about praying for Obama...it is brilliant and he is certainly a pillar among Christians... he and Mary as I recall many months ago she also called for prayer for the President and some here REFUSED...

I guess some here were lucky enough to be born in a pearl oyster shell and raised in a glass bubble and they have NEVER known what it is to be a sinner forgiven by GRACE....

Isn't there something in the Bible about forgive others so God can forgive you ?

Dan, 13.4% isn't 2.8% either.  And the number I kept coming up with 3.5% of all energy.  But I have to wonder if that includes the Alaskan oil that is shipped to Asia...

Also, I did run across some stats that said that Alaska holds a little over 20% of the proven oil reserves of the US...  But that changes every day.

Lane,

I will GOOGLE and read more about 1920 depression ..Thanks for the suggestion....

I still feel spending is way out of control ...regardless...but I have a quick question for you since I value your insight...

If this money had not been poured into the economy and the various States do you think we would have lost millions of more jobs,,,such as teachers, firemen, policeman and the like and possibly went in to another depression.....

I was listening to different Governors speak yesterday..I recall one was from Wisconsin that said had they not received the stimulous money tens of thousands of more jobs would have been lost..

It is hard for a simple little layman to sort all this out under all the NOISE of the 'parties" hullabaloo...

Linda Mae:  Since you started this post, President Obama celebrated the one year anniversary of the signing of the stimulus package.  He says the government saved two million jobs.  The Republicans have countered with "No new jobs were created".  I have to laugh because there is an element of truth to what they both say.  So why can't we all agree for a change?

There is no dobut that our economy would be in a shambles had not the government stepped in, not only with the stimulus but in other areas as well.  You are right in saying that the first to go would have been teachers firemen and policemen.  Those jobs, by the way, are still very much at risk.  The states have not found a way out of their fiscal messes as well.   The first stimulus only went so far.  We have a long way to go before recovery and creation of new jobs.  Some new jobs will be created by the stimulus package this year.  Most of those jobs will be in construction.

BTW Sarah Palin did say she would not discount running for President.  Someone here commented with a question to that regard.  The Tea Party people don't want her saying that.  They don't want a leader.  Well with Sarah they get their wish.  HA!

You say, "I am however happy he (Obama) pulled (and is pulling) the troops out of Iraq..."

There is no change in plan or policy from Bush.  Obama opposed the surge that won the war.  Now, he's just pulling out troops on the schedule laid out by others.  Obama loves blaming Bush for everything from rainy days to made-up stimulus zip-codes, but he's not real big on giving him credit where credit is due.

Linda, when the stimulus bill was passed, the unemployment rate was 8.2%.  At that time, Obama said that without the stimulus package, the rate would have gone to 9.5%...  We hit 10.2%.  And there is an additional little problem unless the administration changes their mind about letting the Bush tax cuts expire... there will be income packing in 2010 before rates go up for 2011... and there will be an economic dip in 2011.

But to the question, I think that if the stimulus package had been a permanent tax cut... even for the rich, but encompassing all tax payers, as well as reductions in spending that we would have had a slower rise in unemployment and it would be lower than it is now.

As it stands, there is a LOT of uncertainty on the part of businesses.  Cap & Trade, Health Insurance Reform, Taxes... WHY would a business hire someone right now.  They have no idea what that employee could cost them next year.

The bottom line is that it isn't just the stimulus bill that is making unemployment worse, but the general animosity that this whole administration has for private business.  They say nice things to try to have good sound bites on file, but the actions are very different...
