Real Estate Sales and Market report for Mason County, Washington for the period of January 16 through January 31, 2010 reports 41 Total Closed Sales in the amount of $6,213,474. (Note: The month of January 2010 is a much better start from January 2009. It appears that Mason County real estate is showing signs of improvement.)

 

Area A, (Shelton, Arcadia, Kamilche) recorded sales counts of 15 closed sales totaling $2,124,250. Area B, (Hartstene/Agate area) placed 11 sales on the board in the amount of  $1,665,650. Area C, (Belfair, Allyn, Grapeview) reported 11 sales totaling $1,879,400 Area D, (Hoodsport/Union) posted 4 sales for the period in the amount of $544,174.

 

Single Family Resale Homes, on less than 5 acres, accounted for 23 of the total sales.

Two New Single Family homes were sold. There were no Multi-family units sold and 1 Single Family Resale Home, on more than 5 acres, sold.

 

Commercial properties sold - 0, Condominiums -0.

 

Land selling with a Mobile posted only 4 sale and there were 2 platted lots recorded as sold. Short plats posted 6 sales and there were 3 unplatted parcels sold.

 

There were no homes sold above the $500,000 plus range however, 1 sold between the $400,000 to $499,999 ranges. Meanwhile, 5 homes sold in the $200,000-$249,999 range, 3 sold in the $250,000, to $299,999 range and 3 in the $145,000 to $159,999 range.

 

The average price for Single Family Resale's was $184,796 with a Median price of $160,000. New Single family homes average price was $253,500.

 

Real Estate Loan numbered 109 taken out in the amount of $19,318,012. The average conventional 30-year loan rate was 5.02%
