Black Lab's were bred to jump out of the boat in the cold waters of Canada to save drowning people. I'm sure Rocco would do his job with alacrity. He's my 90 lb snow puppy.
Suzanne;
I know how the puppy feels...lol Can not wait for spring.

Howdy and Evenen there Suzanne
Rocco sure does look like a mighty fine puppy dog. Black Lab's sure are hard workers and they sure like to have fun also.
John - We've had 71" fall on us in the Philadelphia area. I don't know how I'D handle another foot deeper. Rocco would probably love it.
Tony & Darcy - You have multiple Labs too! They have more fun doing everything together.
What a trooper! My dogs are having a blast in the snow, but of course, they want to come inside pretty quickly. I had no idea about black labs being trained to jump into freezing waters to save people. Thanks for the tidbit!
Carissa - It's 33 degrees outside right now. Rocco and Angel are out playing in the snow. They get a biscuit when they come in instead of cocoa.
My golden is driving me nuts to go back outside and play in the snow !!!!!!!!!!!
Michael - They will keep us young. I just came in from chipping ice off the back steps and both dogs were chasing the bits of ice as it flew around. They're fun to be around.
Suzanne,
My dogs hate the water but love snow. Go figure. You can certainly see Rocco against the white snow.
Rich
Rich - Against the snow it is easy to find him. That collar is reflective because at night he's camoflagued.
Marlene - We rescued him at 3 months old and it was love at first sight.
Hi Suzanne,
Rocco looks like he is enjoying the snow! Thanks for rescueing him! I'm glad for you that it was love at first sight! Black labs are wonderful dogs. I'm glad that you & Rocco were a match! He's a handsome 90 lb. snow puppy!
Rita
He actually looks like he's waiting for you to play with him instead of taking his picture :)
Rita - I'll still love him even if he gets to be a 95 lb snow puppy.
Jim & Maria - You got that right.
Suzanne, dogs such as yours remind us to enjoy the moment no matter how much snow we get! And more is on the way later today.....yikes! ---Gloria
Really? I didn't know that about labs. Only the black ones? I'll have to tell my hubby. He used to have one =)
Suzanne - ninety pounds? wow, I didn't know labradours ever got to that size - what a cutie!
Rebecca - I love that face. It looks like, "Did you really take my picture in this hat?"
Gloria - We just got a sprinkling last night (Hurray) so now it's 28 degrees and the labs are outside chasing squirrels and hopefully making snowdogs.
Lisa - The pigmentation of Labradors is controlled by melanin, just like in human skin color. I would venture to say the three colors of coats are different but the labrador retriever breed is identical in nature.
Joanne - There is a female chocolate lab in my neighborhood that's 125 lbs. That's alot of Kibbles!
