Thankful Thursday--Praising God for 77 years with my Aunt Louise

By
Home Stager with Ready 2 Stage

I am so very thankful for my Aunt Louise. Growing up she was just like my 2nd mother, having spent many nights at her house with my cousin.  In July of 2009, at the age of 76 she underwent a very difficult surgery to repair a problem with her heart.  Over the next 6 months she has suffered many complications and setbacks from many different causes.  She is currently in a rehabilitation facility working her way back.  She desperately misses her home and cooking meals for her family and friends.  We all miss having her around for the fun.

In December, she turned 77.  Her family met at the rehab center for a birthday celebration.  We shared food and laughs and well wishes for her return to her good health and her home.  Just feeling extra Thankful for her on this Thursday......

So sad.  It's very difficult to see a loved one get older and go through health problems, especially when they end up in a facility.  We have had to endure this several times and it is not easy.  She is so lucky to have you and the rest of her family.

Thanks Sharon.  She is actually getting to come home today.  They think that maybe her mind will be more stable and improve in a familiar environment.  Thanks for your comment.

Michelle--Louise did get to come home this week, and seems to be adjusting well.  She was experiencing lots of confusion at the nursing home, so hopefully her familiar environment will help with that.  Thanks for your comment.

Debra--Thank you so much for your comment.  I have visited with her 2 times this week and she seems to be doing well.  Just need to keep my cousin--her care-giver--in my prayers.  She has really sacrificed since she has been sick.
