Secrets for HIM and Valnetines Day
Trying to find that special something for the man in your life to make him feel special on Valentines Day is always an interesting opportunity.
Let me share the secret of buttermilk!
Yes, buttermilk.....it is the secret ingredient to the most MOIST Chocolate Cake ever!
Chocolate Lovers Chocolate Cake
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- t tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup oil
- t tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup boiling water
In large bowl blend dry ingredients. Add buttermilk, oil, vanilla & eggs. Mix well. Add boiling water and beat well. Batter will be thin. Pour into greased 9 x 12 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 to 35 minutes.
Fudge Frosting
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 3 2/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk ( add more 1 tsp. at a time if needed_
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Melt margine over medium heat. All cocoa. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and milk. Beat until smooth.
Frost the cake and serve with a big glass of milk or coffee!
Serve on a pretty red plate and you are set for a happy dessert on Valentines Day or any day!
