Getting to the Top of Google. Successful Link Building.

The Internet is growing so big, so fast... it's getting harder and harder to measure it's true dimensions. It's also getting harder to be found when next time homebuyers come looking for your website.

2010 is the year a lot of REALTORS are going to be shutting down and tossing in the towel largely due to one reason.

Broker Bob at Amazing Realty across town has a page one #3 presence on Google and you don't.

Wouldn't you like to change that and put your website on page one of Google so people will find your site above Broker Bob's?

You can if you know a few tricks about Google's SERP (Search Engine Results Page).

But being found on Google isn't enough. There's just way too many crappy real estate websites out there. 90% of them suck. So... people click the browsers's BACK button and go back to Google then go to another REALTOR's website.

Next time home buyers want to be Engaged. Entertained.  Informed. If all your website does right now is show off homes and how good your are with horses... you're missing the boat... and a LOT of leads.

Look at what Keller Williams and Traci Rochon is doing with their brand new WordPress Blog.  Look at the hilarious Move it Move it Video Dan did and posted on YouTube.

This was NOT an expensive time-sucker. It shows CREATIVITY and Dan is doing more videos like this of the Maryland, DC and Virginia areas.  The blog isn't 100% done yet, but you can see the work in progress here.

Note on the top right side there are some great SEO friendly words about Foreclosures, Short Sales and they are offered as REPORTS.

You can copy and paste YouTube Video links into the body of your blog, too. As Dan did when he wanted to show off how much snow the Virginia area received a few days ago.

Marketing things about your local hometown, local area can be fun and worthwhile. All you need is a cheap $150 Flip Video camera and a little imagination. Videos are fun to watch and next time homebuyers can't seem to get enough of them.

Linking your YouTube Videos to/from YouTube and your Blog, then letting folks Tweet your articles, and videos and photos to their Facebook page or Tweet it to shar with friends is the BEST way to let your WordPress Blog start working for you.

Linking, Back links & Reciprocal Links

We've all heard the buzz words, but what do they mean and how can you get your website ranked higher with more incoming links? How do you get 42,219 links coming to YOUR site? Keep reading.

The easiest way is to get yourself a WordPress Blog and have this installed onto your server and hooked up to your website. There is a single WordPress plug in that will broadcast your Sitemap links and content to Google every few hours. Call me or email me and I'll give you the secret.

For now, here's a little bit of homework you should be doing when planning any link building strategy.

1.) NEVER NEVER NEVER accept the link request from an email request. The stupid email comes disguised like this.  "We already linked to your website, now just copy this code into your website and you will be linked back to us." These are the Google VAMPIRRES. These SUCK the PR value out of your site. They never build it up. NEVER sign up for these offers. NEVER!

2.) Big Community Blogs about your home town. They are out there. Find them and send them an email invitation. Or simply join the blog and become a local expert about four or five neighborhoods and build your OWN links back to your website.

3.) Join the Chamber of Commerce. Get LINKS from their site to yours.

4.) PRWeb.com.  It's $360 - $400 per PR Release but it's worth every penny.  One PR will generate an average of 200 - 450 one way incoming links to your website in 72 hours. So it's no surprise to see your website ranking page five #4 on Google for say:  dallas homes for sale."

Then in 72 hours AFTER the PR Blast, you find your self page one #8.  3 days to page one is not bad, and a PR blast can sometimes do miracles for you like this providing that your website is built from scratch and not a McWebsite template from Z57, AdvancedAccess or another similar company where there are 15,000 others just like it.

Great info Bart.  I am looking into a WordPress site.  Do Search Engines place a lot of importance on updating/changing the site often?

Another way?  I have been resisting WordPress for about a year.  With all that I have on my plate, adding one more seems a bit much.  I already have a fair amount of google juice.  But, I will read it and evaluate it.  WordPress seems to get some great virus activity, have you experienced that?
