"At This Very Moment - Everyone is Tied" - Vancouver 2010 Olympics

A moment in time that's about to change...but for now...It was exciting watching the parade of athletes arriving into the Olympic stadium.  Goosebumps actually! With Greece leading the pack as always;  to the lone representative from Ghana (skiing :-);  to the bereaved Georgian Team with their Black Armbands; the Team for India (the story goes that they had threadbare mismatched uniforms - and when they arrived in Canada - the Indo-Canadian community donated them spanking new matching uniforms and a large monetary contribution); to my birthcountry Croatians; and finally the best for last.....the Americans - snazzy as always (and the largest contingent); and finally the Canadians!  Exciting and emotional...........let the Games Begin! :-)

P.s.  I apologize for the quality of the photos - but you know how I took them! :-)

Hi Liz,  I also watched part of the ceremony and thought it very well done.  I suppose most nations could learn a thing or two from the athletes !

Nice ceremony on TV last night; I would have to think Vancouver is absolutely electric at this moment.

I love the olympics when most of the countries from all over the world come together.  It reminds me that we all breath the same air ... I wish this could happen more frequently than every 2 years.

It must be very exciting to be in Vancouver right now. Parts of the opening ceremonies were awesome! I particularly liked the spouting whales.

What a great opening ceremony, albeit confusing in parts. I think it's great that so many of the countries are represented by just a few athletes. I hope they win- their entire nation is watching them!
